About This Game

In Microcivilization you explore, expand, exploit and exterminate all together in a pixel-art strategy-clicker game blend. Start the non-linear growth of your population and economical strength while discovering government combinations, hundreds of unique heroes and experimenting with ability builds for both combat and construction challenges.

You have many ways to build an obscenely rich and powerful nation. If oppressing your people by furious button smashing is your thing, master the clicker features to your benefit. If faith in your micro-people's good-will and productivity is your style, make use of your workshops and their passive and active abilities. Advancing in technology tree will unlock upgrades, military units, bonuses and new abilities to help you grow and steel yourself for threats to come.

Face hundreds of disasters, wars, diseases, social unrests, invasions and independence declarations that threaten your people. Sometimes you will get beaten, descend into dark ages, famine or ideological mayhem. But have no fear, losing is impossible. In fact, the harder the struggle, the more likely a grand hero emerges from the ashes.

Every crisis you overcome gives you a chance to gain a hero. For your micro-civilization heroes act as inventory items which boost your power. Though you can only have a handful of them equipped at any time, collecting heroes opens endless new effects on your industry, wealth, strength and stability. As you move forward, you will collect higher tiers of heroes, merge them with recipes and form sets to gain absurd powers.

Disasters in this game are no mere random number generator roll. You are in full control of all disaster risks. In fact you know the chance of them happening at any given time so you have chance to mitigate. Uninhabited houses? Chance of fire. Too many people crammed in tight space? Small-pox will probably visit you soon.

Whether by bad luck, or your risk neglection, when a crisis occurs it can be overcome by combat. Fire can be extinguished, disease can be withstood or cured, invasion can be repelled. Regardless of what the problem is, it is always a number of brave micro-people willing to give their lives, who defeat the crisis. In every fight, People are your life, Economy is your strength and Heroes are your weapons. Combine these with workshop abilities and master the combat to become a force to be reckoned with.

History has too many stories to tell in one go. In order to reach the metaphorical stars, you will need to trace back to ancient ages several times, each with a higher purpose. Your Ascension tree contains many challenges organized into Difficulty Tiers each brining new features into the game, more difficult enemies but also access to more powerful heroes, world wonders and ability modifications.

The game is fun for the first x amount of hours until you hit Ascendancy 2, then it becomes an absolute slog with a difficulty spike so high you go from never facing any threat from any of the nemesises, disasters etc to getting stuck in infinite loops of enemies and never having fun again. If the dev would fix the difficulty scaling, it would be a very fun game, but unfortunately now you only have some tens of hours of entertainment until the game becomes a slog and you quit.

The game had potential, but instead you end up stuck in an endless crisis—losing all your land, unable to build anything because the resources are gone, permanently trapped and unable to ascend. On top of that, your research ends up way ahead of the resources you can funnel into your builds, the auto-build system is terrible, and the game can’t be idled reliably. If you’re unlucky, you’ll lose all your land the moment you step away for a minute, wiping out all your progress. 4/10

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Gameplay before graphics.

So I see that most pf the people who complain recently have less than 20 hrs in this game. Sure the game might be pricey but to be honest after 70 hours I am still having a blast. Most of the critique is that the game is repetitive which I can understand but lets be honest guys , the game is a clicker. This is by far the best clicker game that I have purchased and I do not regret spending a cent on it. Clearly the developer cares about the game based on his/her involvement in discussion boards and giving us quick hot fixes when needed. My recommendation for the players is , do not hard grind this game. I play it for couple of days then I give it a break that way I do not burn out or find it repetitive. I do like new updates which have brought freshness to the game. Considering how quickly developer pushes updates it makes me feel excited for the future updates. This is my firs review I have ever posted about any game and I have posted it because I feel like some bad reviews are ju...

Short and sweet cuz.....NO ONE LIKES POSITIVE REVIEWS! This is a good incremental game, I'm most pleased there is no predatory pay models that seem to plague this genre of game.

A neat addictive strategy rogue-lite. It is like those small civs starting and running off in a fridge or cola in some short time. Full civ from start to finish in approximately an hour. The civ is in a similar way cute as those tiny civs. And similarly, you can set it up for success and leave it for a while and then see how they managed. It has a rogue-lite element where you have a randomized map and tech tree. Each time you can then improve your "abilities" and thus speed up the next games initial phase. There are two things I don't like that much. As I rush it, the randomization of the tech tree is something I do not look at at all. But that is my play style. What I do not like is the fact that I can click on a building and it gets deactivated (which happens often by accident while unpausing a crisis) or that I cannot set more precisely when the game should pause (e.g. onset of starvation).
