About This Game

A poker-powered deckbuilding adventure
Three tables stand in a circle of stones in the misty heart of the old woods, forming a portal to a soaring world drawn from the pages of ancient Norse and Middle Eastern mythology. There, you will embark on a journey to save Cardrasil, the Life Tree, from the evil that gnaws at her roots. Each card of the enchanted deck she entrusts to you are leaves plucked from her very branches. Use them to evoke your abilities and unleash devastating, poker-powered attacks. Grow your own power, prune your own deck, but make haste! The seasons are changing; warmth won’t be free for long.

New Invernal Spiral Game Mode

Brand new way to play Aces & Adventures: The Invernal Spiral, a deck-manager mode inspired by games like Slay the Spire that allows you to build and curate your deck throughout a lengthier adventure.

 • Fast-paced gameplay delivered in highly consumable 10-20 minute sessions.
 • 5 Characters, each with their own library of abilities and 30 levels of advancement.
 • Unlock powerful traits and equipment as you progress through your journey.
 • 13 fully-voiced campaigns and 4 games for a total of 52 levels of escalating challenge
 • Procedurally generated runs ensure endless unique experiences.
 • Build your own decks, and upgrade your abilities to Elite and Legendary potency.

Gameplay
A unique combination of traditional playing cards and special ability cards sits at the heart of Aces & Adventures. You’ll craft a deck and choose how to use your resources – do you aim to defeat your opponents through attacks and spells, or play cards in order to potentially draw devastating high-value poker hands and obliterate your foes in a mighty blow?

 • Use the four suits as mana to activate your abilities.
 • Throw a single card as an attack; high card wins.
 • Go poker-powered and throw a pair, triple, four-of-a-kind, or valid five-card poker hand.
 • The defender tries to match the number of cards in attack. If the defender plays a better hand of that size, the attacker takes the damage
 • Combine buffs, debuffs, abilities and spells to unleash combination attacks of catastrophic power.

Very fun deckbuilder that uses the basic hands of poker. Will inevitably be compared to Balatro but has a very different feel. The adventures are short with just a few battles each and I can see buying this game at anywhere near RRP not worth it but when heavily discounted it's more than worth your time.

A masterpiece, nonpareil in a very specific niche. People have been coming up with clumsy solitaire dungeon crawlers based on the physical 52-card playing card deck since at least the birth of Dungeons and Dragons (and probably before). I've read the rules of a lot of those and played a couple runs of a few. They're all pretty mediocre, but for some reason it seems to be a fascinating design trope for countless amateurs who think "if I could just get this right..." This game gets it right. Yes, it's fair to compare this to modern roguelike deckbuilding video games like Slay the Spire (although strictly speaking the core story mode is not a roguelike, and barely a deckbuilder), but actually that gets the etiology backwards. This game revisits an earlier branch on the evolutionary tree, but carries back the lessons and innovations of modern titles into the classical frame, simplifying and refining them with a view towards elegance and restraint which typifies classic board and card g...

I wish I liked this game but it just feels boring. I think its because there is too much luck involved and the heroes feel weak. The enemy can simply get a pair on their attacks a few turns in a row and you probably won't have that so you can just die even if you didn't do anything wrong. That doesn't feel good. I like that there are permanent upgrades you can get but the ones I got also just felt really weak.

This game was not for me. Everything about this game is really good. Art, UI, audio, voice acting. However I did not enjoy the game play. I thought it was boring.

Choose a character class and fight your way through a DnD campaign where you attack and defend with poker hands! If the above sentence sounds good to you, you might like it as much as me - it feels like a hidden gem! Meta progression gradually improves your class abilities and gives you more ability cards to build your deck with (ie. pay a club to dodge an attack; pay two hearts to heal). Aside from the main campaign, you then unlock modes with slay-the-spire like node maps. I've rocked the rogue, and now want to play through as every other class. My one complaint would be that you have to come out into the game's hub to level up and edit your deck rather than being able to do so quickly between campaign chapters, but it's a minor niggle.

This is an excellent singleplayer fantasy adventure deck builder with strong poker elements. There are many adventures and game modes to try, five characters with customizable decks to play with, and 30 levels worth of new cards and abilities to grind per character. I've played about 7 hours at this point and haven't even tried any of the other characters. I expect to get many dozens of hours of fun out of this game at this rate. Highly recommended!
Gameplay: 8/10

Graphics & Sound: 6/10

Narration: 5/10
✔️ Very cool deckbuilding mechanics, with an interesting variety of applications - you can play through the story with a handmade deck, or go for the roguelike mode which lets you build your deck on the go. ✔️ Nice variety of enemies and player mechanics, making sure the game doesn't grow old fast. 💭 Some game design elements feel a bit inadequate - for instance the fact that the upgrade making you level up once at the start of missions also applies to the roguelike mode kinda goes against the principle of a roguelike mode. Instead of having to decide your build around the tools RNG gives you, you have to make a build-defining choice right away. 💭 The character design and the story are pretty corny and feel a bit amateur-ish. Nothing dealbreaking, but in case you wondered it's not a game you'll keep playing for its story. ❌ The onboarding and UX are weird, the players are kinda...

Aces and Adventures is a unique blend of deckbuilding, poker mechanics, and turn-based RPG combat that carves out a distinctive identity in a crowded genre. Developed by Triple.B.Titles, this game takes an inventive approach to card-based gameplay, combining the strategic depth of roguelike deckbuilders with the probabilistic tension of poker hands. Set in a mythical world filled with Norse and Middle Eastern influences, the game merges narrative-driven campaigns with quick, replayable challenges, offering both story and strategy in equal measure. While it may fly under the radar compared to more mainstream deckbuilders, Aces and Adventures is a tightly designed and imaginative game that rewards tactical thinking and risk management. The core gameplay revolves around building poker-style hands to power your attacks and abilities. Unlike traditional deckbuilders that use custom-designed cards for combat, this game uses a standard 52-card playing deck, which is shared between offense an...
