I almost returned the game. But I'm glad I tried it out a little more. It has some minor bugs or rather the machine processes don't always run smoothly. But you get used to it pretty quickly. At the beginning I thought to myself, why is everything so unnecessarily complicated? For example, you have to enter four-digit codes to get to goods, or the microwave, where you also have to enter codes instead of simply pressing the appropriate color. Despite all of this, it's really fun after you get used to it for a while. It doesn't quite come close to Horror Bar VR, which is the better game because you're operating machines instead of cooking yourself. But it's worth its price. UPDATE: The culinary Calamity Update is great. Now the game has a much better flow and everything is easy to control. Big Thump up
In its core its a cool and fun game. BUT after playing the tutorial i do wonder if the devs even tried playing their own game?!. Because there are just not enough proper ways to actualy move - and thats mindboggling to me! We desperately need the ability to move free using the left stick! When something is out of range right now all you can do is teleport to a fixed spot (pre-choosen, always the same spots in the kitchen) and hope your environment allows it to move far enough to grab things etc. Yes you also can press B to recalibrate after moving back to get closer to things - but that cant be the solution! Another thing i imediately noticed is the lack of any graphic options. there are NONE!!! Specialy the aliasing is very annoying! Give us Antialiasing! Not recommended until they add basic vr functions and settings that are currently missing!
Extremely fun VR cooking game! ♥ I haven't encountered any problems the current negative reviews have pointed out, and I'm already near the end of the 2nd Week's worth of levels. For those who have said that there isn't a free-movement setting, there is, it's just in accessibility. So, the controls are solid from the get-go (I use a Quest 3 if that matters), have minimal to no lag at all, and are criminally unknown to the majority of the VR community. If you like games that look, feel, and operate similarly to Startenders: Intergalactic Bartenders, I think you'll enjoy this game, and vice versa! I am very much looking forward to future updates and games from this dev team! ♥
EDIT: If your not a fan of scanning every 5 seconds (like I was), the devs listened to us and made the scanning and cooking waaaay simpler. After playing it for a few hours... yeah, I did kinda start to memorize most of the language. I'm pretty sure(?) hanging fruit means it goes in the "red" section, and meat goes into the "yellow" section of tools to use. BTW if that's not a thing, please make that a thing devs. That would be pretty cool. I still recommend this game, and I'm very happy to support a team that listens to us :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I bought this game because it scratches a very niche style of play that I enjoy. Cooking VR games that have more depth than just "here's the tools, now go cut food and stick it in the pan". The puzzle and language aspect of it were a bit tricky at first, but with enough time I can picture myself memorizing it. Fairly solid VR cooking ...
Unable to get past the first launch screen. Tired relaunch. Tried verify. Tired reinstall. Asking for refund.
I love cooking games but this one isn't very fun. Cooking feels tedious and the tutorial is broken. On the second customer, he won't take the plate even though I've dinged the bell multiple times.
What a shame, I wanted to love this game but there is something with the alignment. I have started the game 5 times and the screen wobbles a lot. None of my other VR games do this. This is a major bug that makes me sick.
Wall simulator i was tp'ed into every wall possible and the systems are not setup to allow you the player to fix this issue it dont even run on steam vr its oculus or something else vr which stops you from using play space editor
