I have done nothing but play Sudoku for 3 days. It’s very addicting, even if I’m not particularly amazing at Sudoku. Each individual trial has a very unique gimmick that adds a layer of complexity to the game. For example, the Land trial has fault lines that stretch over a span of the Sudoku board. The correct numbers through the fault line are a palindrome (the numbers are the same going forward and backward). The music is extremely chill and fitting for each of the trials. Difficulty options exist for those who want to challenge themselves accordingly or ease things a little bit. The in game UI is excellent, with good controls (that are also rebindable) to make filling/marking/coloring squares quick and painless. All in all, the game is an excellent addicting twist on the classic Sudoku puzzle and I highly recommend it.

I've been waiting for this game excitedly since hearing about its announcement after playing another sudoku adventure from this developer, OOT Randomizer Sudoku. Now it's here, and it's everything I had hoped for- if sudoku as a grand quest where you have to switch between puzzles to progress in others while facing unique challenges in each one appeals to you, this is the game you want. While everything here is sudoku, each puzzle's theme presents some unique rules that have you think about the solution from multiple directions. Some of these keep the fundamentals of the game fairly untouched, like a star-navigation themed board where you have to take the sum of "stars" hidden in the solution for each row and column. Others radically change how you have to approach them, like a clockwork-themed puzzle where you rotate the entire grid at once. I greatly admire this developer's ideas on how to remix a classic simple game, and it feels like the mix of themes each game keeps things fresh,...
it's everything i liked about ocarina of time sudoku, but much larger and deeper and with a bit of QoL like additional ways to mark up, and somewhat better controls. the new puzzle gimmicks are super fun and interesting, and i like that there's puzzle generation and difficulty options so i can keep playing long after im done with all the gimmicks once.
Challenging spin on classic sudoku. Each board has a new ruleset in addition to the usual rules to provide you with hints. Items earned by solving sections of the grid will help you solve other boards in the same trial and it's really fun to puzzle out. This dev made a similar game inspired by the Legend of Zelda at https://bedibug.com/sudoku/#/ that you should try in addition to this. Huge props for setting the default volume at 30% instead of blowing my ears out. Options menu has colorblind mode and a few QoL tweaks like skipping the walking animation between areas. Certain puzzle rules could be worded a little more clearly, but you pick up the mechanics over time. The Soul ruleset makes my brain overflow. Overall worth a playthrough if you're a puzzle lover.
This is an excellent addition to any Sudoku library. The variants all have interesting mechanics that are not too complicated to understand or execute. Switching between puzzles in a set in order to unlock necessary clues may sound annoying at first but is actually fun and at times a way to force yourself to look at a board with fresh eyes. There is also a puzzle generator which guarantees replay value, something I will look forward to.
I am a lover of logic puzzles so Sudoku is right up my alley. This is quite possibly the ultimate Sudoku experience. Not only are there nine different types of Sudoku, ranging from minesweeper-esque sky trial to the chess-like power trial, but you're meant to solve them simultaneously, with items from each puzzle unlocking clues in the others. The result is that each level is a lengthy, winding logic riddle that offers breadcrumbs and has you jumping back and forth through several types of rules before you manage to get the victory. It is very satisfying, right down to the thematically and mechanically perfect "final battle". Each level set offers its own visual and musical theme to put you into a suitable mood, with harp melodies for the music themed sound trial and thumping drums to suit the earthy land trial. In addition to the magical macguffins that unlock an even more puzzling final battle, you'll unlock keys that grant you access to new challenge modes and coins and pages for ...
Much of this game is good, the additional mechanics breathe new life into the sudoku base. Unfortunately, one of the three game modes (Duel) is unplayable. In this mode, you're playing against the computer, taking turns to place a number for a point. Turns out, though, that there's an invisible turn timer! While you're thinking hard about your move (made much worse by the next issue), the computer just chugs along, placing number and earning points. Puzzle games are not suppose to be real-time! The problem with Duel is made even more insulting by the fact that the game (like many - but not all! - sudoku games) insists on making you manually complete the tedious, error-prone, no-logic-involved initial penciling. This process takes forever and how you're suppose to fit it in with a turn timer I haven't the faintest idea.
There are some interesting mechanics that extend Sudoku rules. However, some other mechanics are not at all interesting or workable, such as the hidden stars. Some extended rules are not well explained, too. If you have never tried Sudoku and want to, this would not be a good game to start with. Even for an experience puzzle solver, this game is intriguing at times, but frustratingly ill explained at other times.
I play it from time to time
A solid sudoku game with interesting variants. The trials encourage you to step back and refocus every once in a while, which is nice.
