I read some of the negative comments and assumed that it was another case of ~Git Gud~, but the loud minority of people saying the combat is broken are unfortunately right. I get what they're trying to do, I've played Shadow Tower, but this is something different. The Rock/Paper/Scissors of light, heavy, and kick mixed with a strict stamina system and timed parry is fine, but the AI will loop certain attacks and stun lock you 1 in 4 fights. There are some enemies that seem to literally be plus on block, like an unbalanced Street Fighter character, which is annoying in most games, but it's game breaking in one that has a stamina bar. I've played for two hours and died between 15 and 20 times, I don't know if that's intended, but if it is, this is the hardest game I've ever played by a wide margin. The respawn system is also unfortunately semi-Souslike, but the game doesn't have XP. You die, your health is reset but your consumables are not, and I think enemies stay dead? Anyway, your p...

Labyrinth of Demon King absolutely hooked me. It's been a long time since a game left such a strong impression. If you're into Silent Hill or psychological horror in general, this is a must-play. But don’t expect a traditional survival horror experience, this game does things differently. It’s tough at first, but once you realize the game encourages you to die and respawn (instead of wasting items), everything clicks. Death isn’t punished, it’s actually part of the gameplay and lore. Your progress carries over, so item conservation becomes essential. Save healing and consumables for bosses, and the game becomes much more manageable. Combat starts off punishing, but once you get a solid weapon and learn the mechanics, it gets easier (though the creepy atmosphere never lets up). I got that same anxious, oppressive vibe I felt while playing Silent Hill, even though the gameplay is completely different. The atmosphere and soundtrack are top-notch, genuinely immersive and unsettli...
All throughout my playthrough I kept muttering two things at the monitor. “Inelegant”. “Missed opportunity”. The crossbred spawn of King’s Field and Silent Hill, Labyrinth of the Demon King is the absolute crème de la crème at inelegance, to the point where it becomes fromage de fromage, blue to the core and dripping film grain so thick, so utterly ungodly it puts Manhunt to shame. Let me consult my notes. Ah, yes, the eight hells. Let’s take a quick tour. 1. Schizophrenic enemy spawning system. You die – enemies respawn. Or not. You leave a location – enemies respawn. Or not. Now, I’m all for variation: later areas have varying spawns where the same room may contain different types of enemies on different runs. It’s a good break from the overused and rather dull formula of FromSoftware where blatant memorization always wins the day. But surely there has to be some kind of rule as to when and how hostiles respawn – at least in re...
A lovely bastard from long dead parents. Silent Hill meets Kings Field, neither to their full extent. If you want to enjoy not enjoying, go for it.

I love every second of it
The combat was certainly a choice.
Definitely "not for everyone". But if you like old style dungeon crowling gameplay, disturbing aestetics and old Silent Hills - you must give it a try. It could be goty for you... or some garbage. Strong "yes" from me and waiting for NG+
Fun game, it's like playing an old PlayStation game. Combat was fun without being overly complex or simple, same with the puzzles. Although I do wish the boss fights were a little harder.
This game is pretty good. It's like a mixture of Silent Hill and King's Field, while being enough of its own thing.
