About This Game
And if those don't work? There's always the failsafe on their puppeting software...
- 5 playable suits - Security, Energy, Tech, Sensor and Labour - with expansive upgrade trees
- Procedurally generated levels varying from small scouts and massive, multi-deck cryoships to secluded outposts and spread-out settlements
- Atmospheric soundtrack and dynamic ambience - listening will save your life
- Lightweight meta progression via collectible "Sigils" that impart powerful modifiers that change how you play
- Build trust between the Handler and Deadnaut, based on how well you do. Offer bribes if it gets low, or wipe their memory and puppet them instead
- Character creator where you can pick a suit, assign stats and import your own portraits
- Traditional roguelike (permadeath, exploration and replayability) with "on-the-run" progression in the spirit of FTL and Slay the Spire
The cosmos is tearing itself apart. Wrecks are full of horrible, interdimensional creatures, the dead roam surfaces of moons, and you’re being hunted by technically advanced soldiers. Experience the world of Deadnaut up close.
Keep your Deadnaut loyal or force compliance. Pay them off or turn them into a mindless space golem if necessary, but remember: everything comes at a price.
Select from five exosuits, each with dozens of unique skills and abilities. Customise your Deadnaut with weapons, sensors, shields, cloaks and hack tools. Choose from the heavy-duty Labour suit, the ghostly Sensor suit, or the gravity-bending Energy suit, or other playstyles to match your preferences.

Encounter dozens of enemy types, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Avoid – or exploit – the security system in each level, from the Watchers that roam ships to the malfunctioning security Towers and Sentinels that guard settlements. Stay one step ahead of the Benefactors, advanced supersoldiers in relentless pursuit, determined to stop you from reaching the Rip's source.
Develop your Deadnaut and maximise their potential by discovering powerful synergies among 180+ upgrades, and tailor your weapons and gear to face the challenges that await you. Get started with a premade Deadnaut or create your own unique character. Adjust their stats and even import your own photo to truly make your Deadnaut your own.

This is one of those games you will only ever see coming from an indie studio, graphics deceptively minimalistic, but really they are not, they are extremely detailed and useful for relaying all the information that matters. You are an operator who hired a mercenary to hunt for information in one of the most dystopian and outrageous settings I ever played in, and you dont even get a real story establishing that setting, it is all done by letting your own mind and fantasy run completely rampant. The guy who made the music is a wordsmith, the environmental information he is giving you, and the way he describes the different enemies, just from enemy chatter, electronic buzzing, clanks, shouts and suspenseful music notes is outstanding, what a brilliant guy, last time I heard work this fantastic was in the first subnautica game. The other half of the "story" you get from reading notes and log entries during missions, but those 2 limited but highly focused ways of telling a story just make ...
Edit: Continuing to try so i get some value out of my purchase. End Result DO NOT BUY. I repeat. DO NOT BUY. There is nothing of value so far to make any of the time spent to be worth any amount of money spent on this. Outdoor missions are still kill your run events even with shields to block it temporarily. You still take the effects, still take the maluses. Awful and broken design. The one saving grace this game has is you can CAD it an retry if you get a bad roll of fortune. Injectors are worthless. Even with the boost skills (of which you get 10). Enemies that would be needed to use an injector against are immune. 25% immunity for a basic ranged weapon wielding enemy, whom can hit you 19 out of 20 times if they see you, where their weakness with an injector by that point can only hit 10% chance vs the immunity effect. So its a negative % chance to happen. Great Design choice! ADAT/ADAR depending on room layouts can be you skip literal real life minutes waiting for the...
Fun and tight rogue-like that puts you in the mood; pro and con is that it thankfully isn't as complex as traditional rogue-likes. Worth the money, pay the developers!
Its fun. Its hard, but not hard like climbing a mountain. Its hard like cracking a difficult problem. Its very satisfying when you get going.
A fantastically atmospheric game. While I wish it went further with depicting the deadnaut and the enemies they face, I can accept how simple the visuals are because of the tactility of the interface. The sound design is great. My Deadnaut is only a blue dot trying to avoid being eaten by red dots, but my imagination is running wild.
