My Experience I enjoyed Roman Wars, although I have to confess that it isn't quite what I expected. I had hoped to build a deck over time that evolved as I progressed through the missions (think System Crash or Cardpocalypse). However, more than anything, it reminded me of a single-player Dominion (the tabletop card game). There are ten scenarios, and you will be building your deck anew in each one from the same selection of cards. The choices that you'll make in terms of what to buy (and what order to buy it) will depend on the scenario that you are playing and the strategy that you've chosen. Therefore, the game felt to me more like a puzzle game, although there is certainly still a deck-building element. It's fun for an evening. For the price, I think that's fine! The free demo gives a good look at the game. Very luck based in some missions, but fun nonetheless. Btw: works completely fine on Linux.
I bought this game after playing the free tutorial. I like these kind of strategy games. This was a fun game, well worth the low price. I found the challenges to be varied and quite challenging. I suggest very carefully reading the challenge descriptions, since many things vary between challenges. Should you invest in gold production or immediately try to increase your military? This may depend on the challenge.
