About the Game
Unravel mysteries in an old school Zelda-like 3D dungeon.Welcome to the first chapter of Essence Of The Tjikko !
As an plant-child hybrid with a hummingbird friend, solve puzzles in an enigmatic botanical lab tower.
Run, jump, climb, swim, push & pull, ... Use every skills you have to get through other 30 rooms !
Unlock secret items and hidden upgrades and you may see the light of the sun.
This game is the prologue version, and can be completed within 1 or 2 hours.
This episode is complete on its own and is the first part of a bigger story.
As a sprout, upward is the only way !
Follow the hero in its quest to understand its origins and the connections it has with other plants. They react around it and the hero can feel the ether flowing around. Its health is also its stamina, so you need to take care like a fragile bud.
This 7 floor dungeon hides many secrets, and good luck to unravel them. Use your abilities to spot them and make your way to the exit. Every way is the right one, and you might find rewards around the corner.
Plants can have strange shapes, but this laboratory has some really weird ones. Computers, doors, cable cars, bridges, chairs, ... You will explore a vast cabinet of curiosities ! But first, you will need to understand their operation if you want to progress.
With the old tv ratio, low fidelity textures, and sharp 3D models, this game is a love letter to 2000's 3D games. Nostalgia wont recreate the past, but can amuse the present...

What a cute indie game! As I like puzzle games, I was immediately convinced by Tjikko. Sometimes I had to put myself down for a few minutes to figure out how to move forward and that's what's nice about this game: it reminds us of the hours on the old Zelda games trying to figure out how to open those damned doors! The interface is adorable and well done. It is clear and above all it respects the artistic direction of the game. Speaking of the art direction, it is really pretty. The plants, the objects with which we interact, our character, everything is consistent. And besides, I can't wait to better understand the story of my character. Maybe that's what's missing, a clearer explanation of the lore, but after all it's only the prologue! We will surely learn more in the sequel! Last little point: the texts sometimes made me smile. Don't hesitate to buy this little indie game, it will offer you a really nice gaming moment.
Incredibly beautiful outside world in the game. A huge variety of plants. Puzzles cannot be completed in a couple of minutes, you have to break your head! Great game in its genre, I recommend!
Cute indie game So I am the kind of player who loves to explore every corner and I had a great time wandering in that game. The visuels are very cool, you switch between between underground forest, lab rooms, windy caves and the big tower. And it feels natural even if the whole place is weird ! Speaking of weird, there is a fairy bird that keeps throwing you fruits, and it took me a while to understand I could eat them 😆 I took my time with the puzzles, some are quite hard. If I have an advice, dont look for the obvious answer, but try everything you can. Not a fan of the menu, the settings are weird. Globally a nice little game. I had a good time on it !
I'm more of a casual gamer and I'm attracted to the zelda series and interactive games! Essence of the Tjikko surprised me a lot by its universe that is making me think of a temple inside the kokkiri forest hehe I'm pretty sure that the game designer, developper and creator (because yes I figured it out this game was mainly created by one person) is a huge fan of the license as well!! I really liked all the puzzles that made me think of the ones in zelda. The universe is really interesting and even if the main character seems a bit creepy at the first sight, we can't do nothing else than attaching to her the more we're playing! The art style is unique, we can notice that each elements has been deeply thought in the process. The sound design is also really immersive and helps you from the start to drown into this mysterious and magical atmosphere. There was a few bugs when I started to play and I took some time to figure out the main controls (I'm using my keyboard but I've read ...
Playing as a half-human, half-plant, you explore a fantasy world by solving puzzles and avoiding traps. The episode ended very quickly, I'm looking forward to continuing.
Totally getting the zelda vibe :D It reminded me the Lost Woods in Ocarina Of Time : you get lost, you think you found a way, then you’re distracted by a pretty thing and you get list again :D In the end, I just had a great time playing it. You enjoy the plants, you beat the puzzles on your way, and the pace is soothing. Everyone wont like it but it’s definitely worth a try.
Fantasy adventure game with spicific, but cute old-style graphic and atmospheric soundtrack Solve nature puzzles and explore the world. Rec :}
Not sure if this game is still being worked on but I enjoyed the prologue. It's a relaxing puzzler that I think will appeal to both casual and frequent gamers; puzzles are not too difficult and they don't slow the game down enough to be frustrating. The camera can be a bit frustrating in tight corridors but aside from that I didn't encounter many problems.
