Let's be honest, you are only reading reviews to see if this game measure up to previous installments of the saga. Going to save you some trouble and answer this with a resounding YES, IT DOES. The atmosphere and sound is faithful to what we've been used to so far and, speaking of things to get used to, this game also come in a different "flavor" as we get to play with a more classical RPG style. This time, time bars and a "rock, scissor, paper" style of attack and defense are the bread and butter of the combat system and it's pretty fun once you get used to I'm not going to waste your time anymore as I'm sure the only reason you are even considering this game is beacuse you are a fan of the franchise and have played the other games all this thanks to steam bloody algorythm. Buy the game and see how the story finally end

About This Game
Combat:
Knight's End features a unique combat system, focusing on the usage of 'Guard' as both a defensive barrier, and a resource used for attacks. This is the evolution of the systems present in Usurper and Moonless Knight. Battles take place on a timeline, instead of flat combat turns; actions have different guard costs, cast times, and cooldowns, which all help determine the flow of the battle.
Active defensive play will allow you to block, evade, ward, or parry incoming attacks. Using the right type of defensive action with the right timing will drastically reduce or even outright negate damage; all whilst building your combo chain.
Exploit the enemy's shifting weaknesses - as they use one of 3 defensive stances, use the right type of attack to drastically increase your damage and gain a combo chain. Each of your attacks will inflict some kind of status effect, allowing you to weaken your enemy, or exploiting applied statuses to create further effects. Spend your combo chain for devastating attacks; the bigger the combo chain, the greater the impact!
Story / Exploration:
In the final days of humanity, you take up arms as Lennecia Britannia, the First Knight of the Angelic Empire of Britannia. The Moon has opened up, revealing the Eldritch horror within. Chunks of the shattered Moon are on a collision course with Earth, threatening to cleanse all life from the surface. As the preparations finish for an Ark-like escape from the doomed world, Len sets out on a more personal mission to save a person dear to her.
Explore the Waltham Industries Vitae production factory. A deepening mystery below begins to unfold, as you uncover the history of the most notorious figure in the series, Alfred Waltham. As the end draws near, you will help him fulfill his final scheme...
Grow your arsenal of weapons, spells, and occult items, as well as your own power; as you face down the creatures, experiments and rejects roaming the facility in the depths of the factory.
The story serves as the finale to the events of Shrouded in Sanity, Usurper, Into the Fray, and Moonless Knight as the Skautfold series reaches its conclusion. Knowledge of the previous games in the series is not required, but it will most certainly make it even more enjoyable!

Good so far. Interesting spin on a sort of time-based turn based battle system. Very moody atmosphere, very detailed enemies, and lots of different kinds. Fun sort of metroidvania element to world navigation. Developer puts out patches very quickly.
Knights End - The final part of the Skautfold Series is finally here! Yet again bringing a new style of game play this one features A Timeline based Rpg system while incorporating The Guard System from previous games, The Result fast paced unique combat which like usual takes a while to learn but as soon as perfected Is really fun to play. Lots of different types of enemies keep it interesting with bosses featuring different mechanics which put a spin on what you're normally used to. Now The game is in early access but Is patched extremely frequently and the Dev welcomes feedback and Fixes bugs as soon as they're reported. I'll keep updating the review the more the game is patched but for now I'd recommend it for the combat alone.
I played all the previous Skautfold games and was really looking forward to the conclusion. I always thought they were scoped reasonably and didn't punch above their weight, but I think this game underestimated just how much work having clear UI feedback and systems turn-based menu combat requires. The QTE minigames aren't precise, the numbers are completely out of whack balance-wise and there isn't much going on to reward exploration or make you look forward to the next plot beat. It's a real shame and I still recommend all the previous games. Looking forward to what the developer does in the future.
Frankly, i liked the previous four games of the series, but this one combat system ain't for me. Up until now, every combat system in each game was action oriented, but suddenly it's a turn based jprg paper/rock/scissor. Shame it's the last of the serie and thus not skippable.
Scoutfold really likes testing different play styles I'll give him that. This time its turn based with a little pinch of his namely some qtes. This one has metroidvania elements of exploration as well. Its got solid gameplay from my point especially for a turn based game. Requires a bit of polish on those qtes but its been updated frequently so no worries there. I really recommend this and all the Scautfold games. They are severely underrated for the story and atmosphere they throw you in.
worse than its predecessors but still worth the 5 bux on steam sale
Its pretty good enjoyed l really cant add anything new that hasent been said in the other reviews The looking forward to the new series

Can't choose to die at the very beginning of the game anymore, gotta request a refund.
