How does a mainstream entry have combat more bland than the mobile game?

"The Devil’s Favorite Video Game" My friends told me I was sick in the head. They were right—because I kept playing this god-awful game for hours and hours. I suffered through being softlocked by some stupid bird boss near the end, only to finally beat the so-called final boss… for the fifth time. How many times do I need to fight the same guy just to watch him walk away again? The combat? 1/5. The story? 1/5. The voice acting? 1/5. Character customization? 1/5. This game came out ten years after Star Ocean: The Last Hope and somehow manages to be ten times worse. If there was a way to mess something up, they did it—spectacularly. I might be one of the only people insane enough to beat this thing, and I’ve returned solely to warn others: no one should go through what I did. The only explanation for the number of people who have finished it is that the Devil himself is forcing them to.

STAR OCEAN THE DIVINE FORCE is, in my opinion, a very good game. Therefore, I don't fully understand why so many reviews are negative. I don't think the game itself is as bad as the reviews describe it. Primarily, it's an action game focused on story and exploration, and partially on combat, as combat is a key element of exploration. The combat system, story, and characters are decent in my opinion. Of course, I'm fully aware that it's not a newer title; I'd classify it as an older one, but that doesn't necessarily disqualify it from being a good game. The combat system also allows for upgrading existing skills and acquiring new ones, thus providing the player with new possibilities. The game itself also allows you to choose your character, as you usually play in a team with more than one character, so you can choose which one you want to play. Honestly, after finishing the game, I couldn't find any elements to complain about. Overall, I enjoyed the game and there were no major perform...

This game stutters real bad unless I spend thirty minutes each time at the start recompiling shaders so I doubt I'll ever finish but I'm not going to downvote because of that. I wish there was a third option besides yes or no for games like this.

Really good star ocean game. The story is simple but is just really fun to play, a solid 7/10 game
