Romino's Adventure

Fun game with nice nostalgic retro graphics and soundtrack, good for relaxing during a calm day. It combines platforming and tetromino puzzles with some fun replayability, as many levels have more than one possible solution. The levels are varied, making good use of all the different things that are to be expected in this kind of game. Some require quite a bit of thinking, others are more based on agility or precise platforming, or toying around with the environment.

At first you see this game and you think ''oh, a platformer with Tetris blocks, good idea, but how far can its creativity go?''. After only 1 hour and half I can confirm that this game executes this idea so damn good, every level has its own unique ways to use the Tetris puzzles. Sometimes you'll use an L block like a hook, then you jump to another level and you must destroy blocks in half to get smaller ones, or maybe you must figure out how to bring the same block through all the level. What I like the most is how there's multiple ways to beat the puzzle, it brings freedom to the player and that's obviously a plus. Its pixelart is simple but at the same time so good to look at, using the same color for all the level making the blocks pop out better. I like also the transition when you reset the level. Good music too, very catchy. Buy it or I'll BLOCK you

A very original idea with simple controls and good levels, from what I've played. The only thing I disliked so far is the music, which is pretty repetitive and the mix of 8-bit and traditional music clash a lot after a while.

The beloved tetrominoes prove to be remarkably versatile in [i]Romino's Adventure[/i], a linear yet engrossing puzzle-platformer. Our heroine Romino is a spry gal who will stop at nothing to get her hands on some sumptuous cake. She's far too adventurous to simply head off to the local bakery for gratification, however; after being enticed by an offer of the icing-covered confection from the mysterious Prince Brince, she instead traverses a variety of treacherous locales so that she can satisfy her yearnings on a slice-by-slice basis. In order to achieve saccharine success, Romino needs to find the tetrominoes scattered throughout the landscape, manipulate them as necessary, and advance through a series of doors that lead to said pieces of cake. While the tetrominoes often need to be placed on top of each other in order to reach higher places, the game gradually reveals new applications for the coloured blocks. This game is so cute! All the levels were very fun and some were pretty challenging too. It's a very unique kind of puzzle game, and I loved learning all the neat ways to interact with the tetrominos through the great level design. It was definitely worth the price, and I hope it gets more attention. Buy it if you want a short but great time!

Holy crap. This game is phenomenal. If you're into platforming, puzzles, and tetris, this is the absolute perfect game. If you like two of the three, it is still great. I highly recommend this game. [*]The tutorialisation is almost entirely textless, preferring to "show, don't tell". [*]Each world has a new mechanic that keeps the gameplay fresh and interesting. [*]The difficulty ramp and pacing are nearly perfect. I had to stop and think about many levels, but only 1 or 2 levels really had me banging my head against them longer than necessary.
