I thought the first game taught me everything about medieval life. I was wrong. Kingdom Come 2 has now taught me that I'm not just bad at sword fighting - I'm also terrible at 15th-century social interactions, economic management, and apparently basic human functions like eating food without dying. Henry may be getting older, but I'm still playing him like a concussed medieval toddler with commitment issues. This game's realism is so intense that I've started questioning whether I could survive actual medieval times. I can't even make it through a simple conversation without accidentally insulting three nobles and starting a blood feud. My Henry has the diplomatic skills of a caffeinated badger, and somehow I've made him the most hated man in Bohemia while trying to be helpful. The combat system has evolved from 'confusing medieval dance' to 'even more confusing medieval dance with extra steps.' I've spent 47 hours in combat tutorials and I still swing my sword like I'm trying to open ...
Familiar, Fun, But Too Safe
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is basically the polished and enhanced version of the first game. When Kingdom Come Deliverance II released back in February, I was kinda surprised at how much hype and praise it received. That's why I never understood the reaction, because the first game was already this good. Did none of the reviewers actually play the first one?
Positives
The good news is, the game keeps what was great from the original and improves it. The realistic alive open world, smart NPCs, the interactable world, good RPG mechanics, great art direction, and the multi-optional quest system are all here and mostly better. The UI, HUD, animations, and graphics are all improved as well. Playing in this medieval world still feels amazing. Honestly, I enjoyed it. Because you do not see a game like KCD very often in the gaming industry. Actually it only happened twice in 7 years. So I did not get bored, I enjoyed being in this realistic si...

I stumbled across Kingdom Come: Deliverance in 2023. I knew nothing of Steam at the time. Because of KCD, I returned to gaming after a hiatus of many years. The urban landscape in the first game was as beautiful as a museum and I found myself visiting city after city just to examine the different churches. As a college professor who studied fencing as an adolescent, I loved the combat, as well as the immersive, historically-grounded story. While fighting in the first installment of KCD was admittedly difficult and required more practice than most games, I thought it was fun to acquire genuine expertise at both the basics (blocking, slashing, stabbing) as well as the more skill-based, advanced moves that players acquire through experience and training. KCD1 was not a perfect game. The story -- which initially concerns Henry's quest to avenge his parents and to recover a lost sword -- gradually loses focus and becomes an increasingly solipsistic "journey of self-discovery." The disappoin...

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – A Worthy Successor with Room to Grow Score: 9.0/10 Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a triumphant return to the medieval world that fans of the first game fell in love with. Warhorse Studios has managed to preserve the essence that made the original so captivating — the grounded realism, the immersive historical setting, and the deep narrative choices that shape Henry’s journey. From the moment you step back into Bohemia, it feels like reuniting with an old friend. The visual presentation is nothing short of breathtaking. From the rolling Bohemian countryside bathed in golden light to the intricate details of armor, weaponry, and medieval towns, the game’s graphical fidelity sets a new benchmark for historical RPGs. Every scene feels alive, with realistic lighting, atmospheric effects, and meticulous attention to historical accuracy, further immersing the player in its world. The story is equally magnificent. It builds on the foundations of the fi...

Huge improvement over the previous game on all aspects, although i wish they would allow one shot one kill with arrows to an unprotected face like in the first game.

This game is more beautiful and fun than the first. The devs do not disappoint. The graphics and gameplay are amazing. It definitely makes you feel like youre in the medieval times. The RPG elements and gameplay will keep you engaged for hours. The story is nice and the characters are great.
The Game of The Year
My first review for my favorite game of the year. Although I've never played KCD 1 before, I have still really immersed myself into this master piece, I've played some games that can have strong attractions to me at the start and middle of the games, but to play through the whole story and hardly ever feel bored , for me few games but this one has achieved that (except for the sacks carrying part). It always provides me with lots of choices to accomplish the requests and I truly enjoy discovering so many possibilities of the KCD world and learning interesting historical facts because of their remarkable restoration of Czech history. The best thing for me is that I can always find something really make me laugh during gaming even though it was a hard time in Bohemian history, my two favorite parts are
the song of Henry
and the time when
the gang tried to get into the Italian Court
, and there are plenty more hilariou...

I'm RPG lover and I'm taking this ......really slowly. 126 Hours played and just scratched Kuttenberg region. I just love this game and believe that it's one of the best ever together with Witcher 3 and red Dead Redemption 2. Highly recommended.
