love the game. But, why, oh why do the guns unload their ammo whenever you put them in your inventory? Serious wind up when you get in trouble and pull your shotgun out to find it's empty of ammo again just when you need it most!! Other than that, great game.

About This Game

A zombie outbreak wiped out civilization as we know it. Hordes of zeeks gnawed their way to the top becoming the world’s apex predator. A few years later, regular humans are an endangered species, with isolated pockets struggling to survive in this new, unwelcoming world.
Welcome to HumanitZ, an isometric, open-world survival game, where you can try to make a difference and put humanity back where it belongs - at the top of the food chain.
Will you gamble on cities and scavenge loot, knowing hordes of zeeks might be around the corner? Or do you try to survive off the land in the country, through hunting, fishing, and farming?

Explore a vast, unforgiving world! From untamed wilderness to dense urban cities littered with drivable vehicles, the dynamic weather system will keep you on your toes.
Survive together! Grab a rifle and start foraging on your own or have someone watch your back in cooperative mode for up to four players!
Live off the land! Pick through the ruins of the old world and scavenge resources to survive. Or take to the hills, set up a farm, hunt game, and catch fish to try and avoid the shambling remnants of humanity.
Robust character customization! Design your chosen survivor with perks, stats, and a huge selection of firearms and other tools.
Craft and build for survival! Utilize an extensive crafting and building system for whatever is needed to survive, from gear to consumables. Then, build a safe house, fortify a base against the zeeks, or turn a burned-out house into a new place to live.
Defend against truly menacing zombies! Not all zeeks are slow and stupid. Adapt and improvise against numerous zeek variants or you'll risk becoming zombie fodder. Looking for an even greater challenge? Try your hand at Permadeath Mode...if you dare.
Defy death! The apocalypse claims everyone, eventually. If not through a zombie’s maw, then through hunger, exposure, treacherous terrain, or other people. How long will you last?
Single player, Co-op, PVE, PVP, Dedicated Servers, 9 languages, Proximity voice chat, dog companion & more

this game has a lot of potential. if the devs don't abandon this or keep it in early access for too long it will be an excellent game.
after having around 40 hrs net playtime one can see similarities to a game like Project Zomboid. However where PZ lost me witth an, for my taste, overwhelming amount of attention to detail, HumanitZ takes a leaner approach. While the game certainly doesn't lack in terms game mechanics or depth, it still manages to create enough of a flow to enable an enjoyable balance between exploring, fighting, looting, upgrading and basebuilding. Being in Early Access HumanitZ certainly still has flaws and lacks features which put it in a state, that is far from an acceptable release. However if you are into survival games this is definetly worth a look and fun.
Loving this game on steam deck with xbox controller but how do i sleep to pass the night away, please help?
I'm quite a fan of Project Zomboid and have a decent number of hours into it. One of the things I dislike about Zomboid is the more simplistic graphics style. HumanitZ is somewhat similar to PZ in many ways, but what I really am liking about it so far are the well done graphics. It's still in EA, but so far I have no discovered any game breaking bugs. There are definitely some bugs, but it seems like most of them I've come across are issues that crop up when switching back and forth between playing with a controller, which is how I predominantly play, to switch over to mouse and keyboard for large combat scenarios where the mouse is just significantly more precise when is comes to weapons accuracy. But once combat is over there is always a hitch when trying to use the controller again as it will not be recognized, sometimes requiring the controller power button to be used to get the controller to register with the game again. A similar issue occurs when using inventory ...
The game is full of all the systems you know from other Zombie games like DayZ, 7 days to die etc. with building, base management, crafting, looting, survival, weapons mods, exploring, hordattacks, cars and so on. The difficulty on normal is hard enough but not very hard. The map is large and locations seem to have unique loot, so it is interesting and worth your time to loot everything. The weather system is pretty harsh but nice. Often when you leave your base there is so much happening while you are on the road that you get sidetracked often into battles with suddenly attacking NPCs or hordes that flood the location you are looting, fighting with the human NPCs, explosions of Zombies pulling in more zombies, it is really fun and sometimes crazy. The only time I died was by my own grenade, the zombies do not hit that hard on normal. I played over 50h so far and I love my experience.

Has promisse, but lots of bugs and saving issues, If I were you Id wait for few updates.
I booted this game up thinking I’d be the last hope of humanity… turns out I was just the last hope of pressing “Alt+F4.” The zombies look like they were copy-pasted out of a 2005 PowerPoint presentation, and the combat feels like I’m swinging a pool noodle at a brick wall. Every hit sounds like “bonk doke” and the zombie just stares at me like, “that all you got, buddy?” The controls? Absolute doo doo butter I pressed crouch and my character started breakdancing The buildings? Copy paste city I walked into 10 houses in a row, and they all looked like the same IKEA showroom after a nuclear discount sale. Inventory? Don’t get me started. It’s like a giant bag of poopy everything’s everywhere, nothing stacks right, and I swear my backpack has the same organizational skills as a toddler. Final verdict: If you enjoy confusion, frustration, and the constant smell of digital fart noises, then this is your game. Otherwise, save your money and go touch grass. 🌱 ...
Since the updates have been released and my initial return to the game, it's been great! I've had this game a little while now and it's cool to see how it's grown. Definitely have recommended it so some of my military buddies and we enjoy playing it when we get dismissed for the day.
