Super Roboy

Lots of skills, big map, game has a lot to it. If you like Metroid you'll like this.

I had a slow start with Super Roboy, but once I got the hang of the mechanics and rhythm of the game I ended up having a lot of fun. I finished with 100% (well, 101%) completion, which isn't something I do with a lot of games. The strongest aspect of the game for me was all of the skills you earn and the process to unlock them. Sometimes doubling back to an area can feel like a chore (even in a metroidvania), but it's well incentivized in Super Roboy. I also found the menu system to be incredibly useful- there are a lot of things to keep track of in this game, but I never felt lost because it was all captured in the menus. There are some minor things that I found annoying- placing map markers being a bit of a convoluted process is one that sticks out- but overall I would recommend the game to any metroidvania fan.

Unfortunately i cannot recommend it. Some enemies call kill you with three hits, specially bosses and there’s no way for you to restore your health during many boss fights; i was fighting the semi final boss, and if i touch him i lose literally 90% of my health, you pretty much cannot get hit, in his second phase he becomes a sponge and the battle turns into a bullet hell with him flying across the screen. I was enjoying the game but not being able to finish it due to the ridiculous damage i take and cannot recover my health was enough for me to drop the game and uninstall it.
