This is a very short puzzle game, I took 4 hours but a chunk of that was me leaving the game running whilst I went off for a coffee or some other task. The graphics are basic 2D, the navigation point and click and the game is simplicity itself, find something that needs unlocking and then find a key or code. The puzzles vary from solutions staring you in the face to having to get a pen and paper out and do some calculations. It isn't very strenuous but does provide for a diverting few hours. Is it worth the price? Just about. I suspect this style of game works better on the Android platform.

About This Game
Tarakan - Mystery Puzzle Adventure
During a recent local walk you discover a secret base in the forest, your adventurous side decides to investigate further. Your inquisitive nature pays off with the discovery of a submarine docked by the river.
Could the submarine transport you to more mysterious places, maybe even help unravel the puzzle of what is happening? What is a private business doing with a submarine in the first place? This seems very puzzling.
Along with the mysterious discovery of the unmarked buildings you decide there is only one way to continue the adventure, with the coast seemingly clear, you set about solving the first puzzle and finding a way into the submarine…

NOTE: This is an extremely primitive point and click escape game with exceptionally simple puzzles. Bought it on sale for $2.99 but I don't think it is worth more than $0.99. If you have exhausted escape game content and love point and click adventures, or if you are introducing a child to the point and click adventure genre, then have a go. Navigation to move forward is to click on the general area you want to go, and there is a back arrow to go back. That's it. You have to click around a lot on a screen to find active areas - the cursor doesn't change to indicate a hot spot. Not a pixel-hunt, though, the hot spot areas are ample sized.
Sorry to say I was disappointed with this game. If you're seriously into math you may love it. I prefer the type of escape room where you find clues and solve problems. This game turned into all numbers with no clues at all. You either know the math required or, like me, you're out.
All the Puzzles up to the Gate on the Tarakan location here (once it uploads): https://youtu.be/5_qqxZrRXKI I enjoyed this game a good bit I like the visuals and I think some of the puzzles are really neat brain twisters. There were two I wish that the creator would have gave us a bit more information on how to solve, but I'm sure there's still a method the two I got to that I was legitimately stuck on for an hour each which burned my brain cells out. Definitely worth a try though and hopefully you can get further than I did. I did reach out to the creator for a tip on the last puzzle, but on second thought I figure it's best to end these type of games by yourself with the information given in game. It's a shame I won't see the end, but it is what it is hopefully the vid will be somewhat helpful to other players as well.
Pretty good game about a submarine, if you like submarines and puzzles you'll like this game very much.
6.5/10 Pros: -decent arcadey puzzle solving -mostly pretty intuitive and straightforward for the first couple rounds -short, but concise puzzle gameplay Cons: -requires decent math solving problems (not suitable for everyone), starts to get frustrating in the "GAMMA color" puzzle -needs more puzzle variety such as stages where you need to race the clock to give players more agency -could fit the puzzle into the "aborting the rocketship from launching" story to immerse the players for better gameplay experience (Find it silly to see so many documents of passwords lying around, makes it a little unrealistic) Pretty great game for a game developer. Keep it up and can't wait to play more escape-room type games like this from you in the near future. ;)
One of the worst puzzle game I ever played. Most of the puzzles are just ... stupid ... I could you know that was the case without any hint given by the game. Really short too, finished it in 4 hours with long pause in between. Don't waste your time and money with this game there are better ones out there.
We're not recommending this M9 game. It's too short to charge money for, albeit there are at least a couple of puzzles where the relationships between the clues and the solutions are so obscure as to require recourse to a walkthrough (so, we suppose, you could swear not to look at a walkthrough, and get a lot more time out of these, but it's unlikely that you're going to make the connections necessary without a lot of just plain guessing). There was also a lot of pixel-hunting in scenes where we felt it was fair to assume we had clicked on a thing. Boxes, for example, don't move the point of view into their interior unless you click a fairly small subset of the pixels in the image of a particular box. Like other M9 games, there are also some re-used images that make it a bit confusing as to just where you really are. Mr. Luetchford, if you are reading these reviews, please consider consolidating your individual puzzles into longer final products, and also devoting more time to play-t...
That game is way to basic.
