ultimaze is a simple-looking puzzler with 200 labyrinthine levels and a ton of different mechanics (portals, keys, switches, disappearing tiles, block-pushing, magnets, springs, ice, bombs, etc.). levels are unlocked one by one, but there's a skip level button, so you can keep progressing if you get stuck on one. skipped levels weren't marked initially, so after a while it was problematic to remember what you hadn't actually solved, but a patch eventually took care of it. no move limit or timer on the levels, but there are a few timing-based mechanics and a time limit can be set on custom levels in the editor, so I guess it's possible that some regular levels also have a timer (didn't try them all). undo works from a fail state, so if you happen to step on the wrong thing, no problem. you can only carry one item for the most part (there's an item that extends the inventory), stepping on another replaces the current one and whatever you'...

About This Game
Move around and interact with objects to reach the goal in 200 single-screen levels that steadily introduce new gameplay features. As the focus is puzzle solving, you can undo your moves at will.
The game isn't based around a single gimmick, but rather features a wide variety of different tiles and game mechanics that mix together to create varied puzzles to solve.
Some of the game mechanics include:
- Pressing switches to alter tiles
- Carrying and utilizing items
- Pushing crates
- Sliding on ice
- Traversing lava in various ways
- Using magnets to push and pull tiles
- Jumping from springboards
Some of the later levels feature increasingly odd and advanced scenarios:
- Manipulating a turn timer that alters objects after ticking down to zero
- Moving around diagonally temporarily
- Carrying an extended amount of items and duplicating them
- Destroying yourself by moving into an infinite loop to respawn to a spawnpoint
- Creating and loading save states of a level to your advantage
Ultimaze also contains a simple level editor tool and a block guide that contains a tutorial levels for each tile type.

User Reviews
This game is fun. It doesn't have a deep story, or a soundtrack orchestrated by Hans Zimmer himself. However, it does have fun puzzles without interruptions, or distractions. This is the kind of game that you can just pick up after getting home from a long day. Play your favorite ambient artist, have an extra nice brownie or some juice, and just chill with a few puzzles. Buy it, it's a good time.
I really love this game! Thanks a lot to the developer, highly recommend to anyone that loves puzzles.
Fiendishly Clever puzzles!
Ultimaze is a hidden gem of puzzle games. 200 puzzles and every puzzle is on one screen so you can take in all the information at once. There's a huge variety of game elements that come together in the puzzles which makes it a very cerebral experience. For the price, it's an easy recommend.
