I purchased this game because I own and enjoyed Draft Day Sports' pro and college basketball sims. Unfortunately, I found Pro Football 2022 pretty boring. Maybe it's more geared for those who are into the coaching aspect and designing plays and playbooks. I, however, am interested only in roster building, coach hiring, and the amateur draft, and those GM elements feel pretty bland.

Draft Day Sports Pro Football is a promising American Football Simulation game that I really hope continues to advance and enhance. Like many other sports gamers, I am desperately looking for a real franchise sim since Madden has chased the MUT money and left the rest of us behind. It is my hope that this game finds support from the franchise/sim community to enable the developer the resources and market to continue to evolve this game. I believe DDSPF aims to be the OOTP of American Football which would be amazing. It is not there yet but I do believe the potential is there. The game is not without its issues this year. The UI can use some quality of life improvements (sorting, league wide editing), there are some bugs (safeties are far too common, QB rushing is off and some stats totals are bugged) and the on field play execution is a bit janky (players not lining up correctly, plays not always representing the outcome) and not as smooth or accurate as it needs to be given the la...
Absolutely not work the money. User interface is very slow and difficult to manage. Game mechanics are opaque and difficult to grasp. Nothing in the game remotely resembles the reality of managing an NFL team. I read some very positive reviews and am severely disappointed -- it's like I'm playing a completely different game from the reviewers.
I'll definitely give this a thumbs up. The real world mod really makes the difference for me in my evaluation. Pros: 1. The game incorporates concepts that I have never seen in other football games and I own all of them. 2. The Diamond Diagrams are really a novel idea that really helps visualize the game concepts. 3. You can play this game at as deep a level as you want to. I really enjoy deep level games. Minor Cons: 1. I'd like to see a better understanding of the clock mechanics during an actual game. 2. Some of the game play diagrams seem to for instance show a run in the opposite direction of the play description. I assume the blocking linemen ratings affect the play so it would be helpful if I knew in what direction the play was actually going. That might affect strategy for me. 3. A very minor thing: During the game, if I enable full screen for watching the play, when it reverts back to the regular screen, I don't have access to the play calling buttons. They are blank a...
1: This is clearly the best "management-type" game for American Football currently existing and i am enjoying it quite a bit as is. 2: There is still a massive amount of room for improvement. Lots of things that need to be improved or could be added to make it feel more realistic and also user-friendly. 3: This seems to be more geared towards Multiplayer-Leagues rather then Singleplayer vs. AI.
Generally the slowest and most disjointed sports management sim I've ever played in 10+ years.
I really wanted to like this game, and spent hours trying to make it work. But it is too buggy. Steam overlays kept popping up over the game while trying to set up. It took five tries and adjusting settings to get a league started. Then the start-up draft left every team in the league way over the salary cap, so no trades could be performed. After restarting again and playing two seasons, my general manager "character" disappeared. Then the next year, I got the "draft screen could not be refreshed" error and that league could not be recovered. I don't think I will be starting another league.
I was looking for a pro football game with a deep franchise building mode. This game does not have it. Trading, free agency, and scouting are all subpar to terrible. If you want a deep and engaging franchise they have a lot of work to do.
i love the idea! the game is great in a few areas, however, it is largely lacking the ability to control important aspects that should be controlled by the gm. -Scouting has a great base and can be improved but its next iteration i would hope for more control and ability to scout! -The GM doesnt currently have control on how the team spends money on scouting staff pay etc. you should be able to put more money into scouting to get more scouting points. -custom playbook in game is glitchy. id like to leave it on the playbook i use but it reverts back to the default. i cant find where to change that. its got potential to be a great game just needs more and to improve on what is there.
Simply the best football sim experience I have had!
