This is painful to play. I've watched the walkthrough on Youtube and it's a longer game than I expected, props to the dev for the effort, but it's too clunky and ugly IMO.

Neko Journey is a visually appealing platformer with a style reminiscent of classic Mario games. Like its inspirations, you can defeat enemies by jumping on them, and the levels—though simple—are nicely designed. One highlight is the ability to customize your character, which adds a welcome personal touch. Unfortunately, the story falls flat. Poor translation choices result in awkward or confusing sentences, and the plot itself lacks depth and coherence. The dialogue system doesn’t help either; instead of voice acting, each character is assigned a short sound clip that loops rapidly during conversations. While it’s a nice touch that each character has a unique sound, the constant repetition quickly becomes irritating. In terms of gameplay, Neko Journey is decent but unpolished.
