This game shows a high degree of promise and assuming that the developer continues to progress it as he currently is then it should eventually reach it's full potential. If you decide to purchase it and you really should at the stupid price it's being offered then best to know in advance that there so far is no tutorial so you will have to find your own way around. This can be a bit tricky to start with but just collect enough items to build your craft bench and from then on it becomes a little bit simpler. My one suggestion is that once you've settled on your starting position make a note of your x,y and z axis as once you leave that area and move around on the huge map provided it is very hard to find your way back home. Very good attempt for the low cost so if you like this type of game then definitely worth giving it a go.

About This Game

There’s a lot to be done and you have to do it alone. Assemblers, furnaces, and engines are your allies and the only way you can get it all done. Build monstrous and contrived contraptions that produce a starship load of parts. Fuel your machinations with wind, coal, steam and more as you harvest the resources of the land for your use.

There are many automated machines to build and connect in Engineer Alpha. Windmills, Constructors, Steam Engines and more all can be joined together so that can do your work for you. Buildings can be connected together in multiple ways including; rotational shafts for power, pipes to transfer fluids, and conveyors and tubes moving Items. As Constructors craft one kind item into another the factory gets more complex with every step and it never stops growing.

The planet you find yourself on is very resource rich however it is quite primordial. Change and shape the land in your own image in order to create a world of your own. The entire world is editable and can be changed to your heart’s desire. Whether you want to build a humble shack with a massive basement or a warehouse size factory you can do it.

Everyone needs to eat and engineers are certainly no exception. Grow and harvest your own food by hand or with automated farms.
Enemies and combat are planned for a future update to enhance the survival experience.

User Reviews
This game has a lot of potential to be something epic. I really really hope the developers stick with it! As for the game in its current state: - UI is very limited, kind of a press every key until something happens so you know what to do - Running the timbers to connect power is a little odd at first. Main concept; if you're not going from one building to another, you must connect to a stand. (ie no free hanging timbers) - Starting grind is very heavy, no automation for parts needed to advance the tech tree, at least so far for me, I just unlocked copper. - To unlock tech, you need to put stone blocks in the "structures" cube, and gears into the "mechanical" cube. This is really confusing at first. You're just presented with a blank window and it was only through trial and error of dragging every item I had into the cube did I discover what to do. Those are the bad, but let me emphasize my first sentence with this, the bad by no means takes away from how awesome this game could be, ...
I initially played and reviewed this game in January 2022. I just tried to play it again, and I'm changing my review recommendation, mostly due to the lack of any tutorial, instructions, or direction. Two years and still none of that - I was expecting a much more mature game after all this time. Original review: This game is very early in development, so don't expect a user friendly interface, tutorial, and so forth. It does have a lot of potential if it can stay in development for a couple of years. I'm recommending it based on that potential, don't buy it if you're looking for anything close to a finished (or easily playable) game.
I hesitate to say 'yes' with this one, BUT, I think it has a lot to offer in the future. Getting started is rough, you're thrown into what appears to be a near-desert world and left to fend for yourself. Intriguing, I know. Five hours and two restarts later I have - through trial and error -learned the very basics of getting started. There is no tutorials and no quick start guides (may try and start one). The game itself is rough around the edges, gooey in the middle, and the top might be a little burnt ... Bakers reference :) but it has a concept of world building, planet exploration, and automation -- Think Satisfactory + Minecraft + Most Mechanic Games -- There is a lot to unfold on the potential lying around in this. There is survival aspects, building, automation, the works that can and a lot most likely will be done. I recommend this game based on it's future development. I think the developer has an idea that has been on the minds of many players for a while now and it could eas...
Engineer Alpha a open world survival & automation you start from scratch on an empty world gather a some logs(wood) This can be a bit tricky to start if you press the F key this will bring up a build menu for building bench so you can make hand tools with the collect items you need to build your craft bench then you can start collecting other resources once you've settled on your starting position make a note of your x,y and z axis there is a guide in the community hub
This game has a massive potential! Right now i look at it and see a rough gem! From all the mining and building mechanics to the tech tree and automation of production it is a lot of fun! I usually never post reviews for games but feel that this game needs more people to play it and help polish it so the developer can get more feedback! I am really looking forward to the upcoming improvements!
this game shows great potential. i am enjoying it so far and looking forward to more!
Give this one a few more years to cook and hopefully it'll be worthwhile.
#1 the nae is horible you find everything execpt the game almost no one has videos on this game finding out how to do stuff is awfull almost noone plays this game so noone helps
This game has a potential. Even though currently I cannot give a thumbs up, I can easily change my vote once these two issues are resolved: 1- Crashes way too often. 2- Lacks in game and Youtube video tutorials
