About the Game

Discover the long-forgotten secrets and hidden paths in this high fantasy world, featuring exhilarating battle encounters, interconnected maps full of places to explore, and an immersive story where every choice matters. Play as Hilda – a brave young warrior from the Northwind Legion who embarks on a journey to the cursed city in order to save her lost father. The gameplay elements inspired by soulslike games alongside a lighter, dynamic combat system, create a fresh take on the modern action RPG genre, providing you with a harmonious difficulty and exploration balance.

 • Explore the magnificent city of Aphes inspired by classical Greek designs and unveil the truth behind the city’s curse.
 • Combine and change your weapons on the go. Equip two different types of weapon at once and become unpredictable in combat.
 • Battle more than 60 different enemies and encounter 22 bosses in the main story and side quests.
 • Decide the fate of Aphes. Every decision you make in Asterigos matters and will affect the story.
 • Find over 100 collectibles, complete numerous side quests, and forge your destiny in the NewGame+ mode.
 • Test your combat skill in the brand new boss rush mode: Gauntlet of the Stars.

Welcome to Aphes – a city-state full of magic and wonder inspired by ancient Rome and classical Greek designs. From the mist-covered bazaar streets to gloomy sewers, the enigmatic forests at the city’s outskirts to deep chasms full of glittering crystals, the landscapes of Aphes are full of beauty and dangers.

Choose from a variety of ranged and melee weapons on the go and combine them as you wish! The talent system allows you to pick and expand your combat style by choosing two out of six completely different weapons: sword and shield, dual blades, spear, hammer, staff or even magic bracelets. Equip a magical staff to obliterate your foes from the distance or switch to a gigantic battle hammer to squish them in a close combat.

Whilst Aphes might distract you with its breathtaking views, this city is not for the faint of heart. Fight your way through 60 different monsters and encounter 22 unique bosses – each with its own unique battle mechanics.

Every choice and every decision you make matters. Your journey in Aphes will lead you to discover the truth behind the city’s curse, letting you piece together its history through conversations, discovered documents and cinematics, as well as Hilda’s own diary, which she’ll update with sketches and observations.

The world of Asterigos is full of secrets and untold stories. Complete numerous side quests, find collectibles and win rewards from Gift of the Nexus, test your combat skills in the brand new boss rush mode: Gauntlet of the Stars and build on your legacy in the New Game+ mode!

Many games can work without maps due to having well made level design that naturally fits together, with an environment that lets the player find the correct way. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. The level design is the weakest part of this game, and it's made worse due to the lack of a map. If you're the type of person that take long breaks from each game, instead of finishing a game quickly in a few days, this becomes nearly impossible to continue. At least that's what happened with me. I'd like to continue this game, but the lack of any sort of map makes it really hard to pick it up again. I'm still giving a positive review because everything else is fun and well made, though. Just don't take a long break from it.

The combat mechanics have no weight. The hub world is shallow. This game has no redeeming qualities. I liked the crocodile,.

The combat is solid, the RPG elements are strong, the boss fights are fun. The story leaves a bit to be desired in places, but it's VERY charming, i enjoyed it, and felt great after finishing it.

I saw all the other reviews complaining about a lack of a map / large and confusing levels and thought that it was no big deal. The large levels aren't a problem, but every time you complete an area you go back to the main hub and they tell you to go somewhere else, but give extremely minimal guidance on how to get there. And the hub is super needlessly confusing too, every path to an area is just a random doorway in the wall and all the walls look the same. Sometimes they'll tell you to go somewhere and you go to the wrong part of that area and end up refighting old enemies just because you don't know where to go. It takes the fun out of the game when every hour or two you have to spend 15 minutes being lost.

87/100 Wonderful game with beautiful characters, amazing story and deep lore if you're interested in discovering it. This game positively suprised me on multiple occasions. Many (optional) game mechanics can be unlocked along the way but first need to be discovered by the player first. For this price, the game blew away my expectations and is in my opinion a hidden gem which is very recommendable to anybody looking for a fun game lasting roughly 30 - 60 hours. + Not too difficult, not too easy. + Beautiful graphics and attention to details to both NPC's, sidequest and world building. + Stunning music with even more music pieces being unlockable within the game. + Good voice acting and many different voice actors. + Lots of optional content available, always rewarding the player for finding/clearing it. + The multiple big maps never felt particulary empty. + Game rewards players on multiple occasions for paying attention. + Multiple dialogue options during main/sidequest...

This is a slightly tentative yes. I did 100% all the achievements for this game so I played it probably two or three times longer than I otherwise would have. It's fine for a single playthrough. This is one of those games where I wish I could rate it neutral.
Positives:
The world is ok, not super interesting but it's diverse enough to keep it fresh as you progress. The bosses are overall pretty well designed. The combat can be really fun, if you play with the daggers, all the other weapons are kind of slow and uninteresting, at least in my opinion. The daggers have an insanely fast playstyle, and the "special skill" or "heavy attack" for them works as a gap closing dash with iframes included, making it an insanely powerful tool for dipping in and out of engagements. They also come with the single strongest skill in the game, blade dance or something like that which not only allows you to attack about 30 times in 3 seconds, but also seem to have iframes allowing you to spa...
