It's easy to play The Entropy Centre and just dismiss it as a heavily inspired by Portal (and The Talos Principle) puzzle game and nothing more, but that would just do an enormous injustice towards the developers of this game... or should I say to the developer, because this is actually a solo project and I feel it needs to be said when speaking about it. Scenario, music and the puzzle concept of this game are all very solid. I was particularly surprised by the story, which has also a very satisfying ending. I believe the elephant in the room which needs to be talked about is the quality of the puzzles, which differentiates itself from the concept. Being able to rewind items back to a previous state has an infinite window of possibilities puzzle-design speaking, but unfortunately it feels like it doesn't manage to truly evolve throughout the game and ends with a lot of untapped potential. From a difficulty standpoint it only manages to be challenging towards the very end with 4 or mayb...

About This Game
The Entropy Centre is a mind-bending puzzle adventure where you reverse objects through time to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles and conundrums.
Manipulate time to your will and solve ingeniously challenging puzzle rooms, each one taking you closer to the heart of a colossal space station in orbit of Earth.
An extinction level event has set the world ablaze. You appear to be the last remaining person alive. Mankind’s only hope lies at the core of the Entropy Centre.
Meet ASTRA, The Entropy Centre’s most advanced technical marvel. ASTRA is an AI-powered device that can scan an object’s spacetime chronology and move it through the past. Powers include rebuilding collapsing pillars to reheating cups of tea. She’s pretty chill.
The truth behind The Entropy Centre’s imminent collapse, and the Earth’s demise, can be found at the heart of this sprawling dangerous facility. But will you accept the unfortunate truth that awaits?
Deviously challenging with razor-sharp witty writing and outstanding voice acting performances, The Entropy Centre merges a brilliant puzzle game with an epic adventure.

Fun puzzler with unique time-rewind elements. Fans of Portal should give this a shot.
A Portal-ish game with a cute companion built into your gun. I dig. Playstack doesn't really miss with what they publish, even if I don't personally like everything they put out. Every game is good for *someone*. If you like Portal and that kind of real-time but relaxed 3D puzzling, maybe entropy your center for a bit.
If you are a fan of Valve's Portal then this game will be a hit to you. I recognized the first 20 minutes of gameplay as not only similar to the start of Portal, but could even be considered a cut and paste. Light spoilers ahead.
The Entropy Center is a puzzle game in which you wake up and don't know where you are. You realize that you need to solve puzzles to progress. You get a fun, ditzy robot companion built into a device resembling a gun in which you solve more puzzles and discover more of the story. Eventually there are evil robot drones in which you have to combat in order to complete more puzzles and progress. I have not personally beaten the game at the time of writing this, but I'm already anticipating an end boss that is a corrupted AI in which controls the rest of the drones, probably hangs from the ceiling too.
I'm not saying the game is bad, the puzzles are easy to learn and provide their own challenges on top of the fact that you have ...
Game looks beautiful, but puzzles are too tedious. I blame it all on 3 things 1) The rewind mechanic is too slow 2) The rewinds are uninteractive, a controlled forward would have been nice 3) I keep missing jump pads.
This is game has a perfect difficulty for those who might've just got done playing Portal or Portal 2. However to an experienced 3D puzzler (i.e. someone who plays a lot of Portal 2 custom puzzles or someone who enjoys The Talos Principle series), this game is a cakewalk. One drawback I would bring up is that every puzzle has many different solutions due to the inherently complex nature of the rewind feature thus leading to many skips that don't even feel unintentional until you realized there was a whole puzzle element you never touched. Another thing is that basically every puzzle has the same solution:
1. Get an idea of the order steps you need to take to solve the puzzle 2. Do them in reverse
. Once you have that fundamental down, the whole game becomes fairly simple. Another thing that bothered me were the
frequent PvE sections where you had to constantly defend yourself from bots throwing energy balls at you. Although they weren't too difficult, I f...
Very nice game, cool visuals and levels.
Good puzzle game, even if a bit to stiff on the trial and error process. Enjoyed the story, solid writing for a classic scifi scenario.
The story is good, the puzzles are good, but the performance by the end of the game in Linux is terrible. I had to set it to the absolute lowest resolution to even continue playing the game which isn't fun, I'd rather they'd focus a bit more on optimization. Oh, and setting the FPS to anything above 60 creates a weird jittery lag effect due to bad frame timing. I cannot with a good consciousness recommend this game for anyone running linux even if I like it.
Easier than portal 2, good game nonetheless
