The Dorfromantik-clones are plentiful on Steam, and most are mediocre. This one [i]almost[/i] rises above the level of mediocrity with some simple but interesting scoring mechanics in the form of Constructions. Finishing a Construction gives you certain bonuses during that run, making the game a bit more tactical than Dorfromantik. However, just like Dorfromantik, the game suffers from having no real way to prevent a large ongoing game from dragging on forever. Furthermore, unlike Dorfromantik, this game seems to no longer be supported. Aside from a very tiny 2024 hotfix there hasn't been a single patch or even a comment on the bugs forum since 2023. Finally, having to zoom in periodically to click on some animals for +1 point each is time consuming and not a mechanic I enjoy. Yet, if I want the best possible score, I'm forced to undertake this tedious task.

There are a lot of fun aspects of this game, but there are also frustrating and annoying aspects that I wish I'd known about before getting invested, so I can't really recommend it unless you're okay with the price/limitations. If you're working towards an aesthetic look where you want the maps to look cohesive, there is no preview on placements, so things involving water can be completely disconnected from the rest of the water, or big building facing away from the towns you've built. If I could change the direction after it's complete, I wouldn't care, or if I could even import an ended game into creative mode to edit it to my own satisfaction, that would at least be something. What the buildings do isn't really clear and I'm not sure they actually boost the way they're supposed to. The points per piece also seem very random sometimes. Getting points from clicking on animals is a cute addition but doesn't give any real benefit if you are out of tiles. (discovered this needing ...

besides the monotony that appears in quite quickly - this game is very relaxing and i would say it's perfect for days when you have nothing to do and you can listen to music while arranging tiles

Lovely Animations! This is a hex tile landscape builder with some fun twists. Most of the time you are free to place tile where you want and certain placements will earn more points. Sometimes groups of tiles are already joined to add a challenge to find the best place for them as well as tiles asking for a specific number of the same type to be placed around it. In addition there are sometimes choice to build larger structures. These structure have specific tile requirements and once those are complete the structure gets built. Throughout there are animations and animals enjoying the various types of habitats. A fantastically enjoyable game!
