IF I CATCH U GOONING TO THE MERMAID, I WILL FIND YOU.
The game has a lot of passion to it and I appreciate the devs for making this kind of game The music, characters, the art style, and the simple story that it has and having good humor. Although, the gameplay wasn't that great tbh. Most of your moves don't land correctly, the level designs feeling bland and overall repetitive since every level before the boss is practically the same while also having no enemy variety, it's the same 3 or 4 enemies the entire time with a coat of paint every 2 levels and also worth mentioning that the enemies are a joke since they just stand still and don't move most of the time. same gameplay loop the entire playthrough. I will say, the bosses are the highlights of this game and some of them were pretty fun while the rest are a complete joke. My overall experience of this game was really mixed. not too bad but not good either. Get this game if it goes on sale cause I think this game is still worth checking out just for the 2 main characters interactin...
No Straight Roads is one of the most stylish, unique, and fun indie games I’ve played in a while. The art direction is bursting with neon creativity, the music is an absolute vibe, and the boss fights are some of the most imaginative I’ve ever seen. Every stage feels like a playable music video with its own personality. If you’re into music, rhythm, boss battles, or just want something creative and different from the usual, this is an easy recommendation. Mad props to Metronomik for making such a gem.
gotta be one of my favorite games of all time, i had it on epic games when it came, got the encore edition on steam and dont regret my decision, playing this feels like watching a pixar movie at its peak, all the characters are memorable and have great writing, the gimmick of attacks being in rythm adds a good skill ceilling to the game, artstyle is a visual eye candy. obviosly for a music related game the music is absolutely fantastic, each boss fight has a unique normal, rock, and edm version, when you fight bosses you can hear it change based on how well you do, wich i absolutely adore, the game really reminds me of alder ps2-ps3 games where you play them for 1 or 2 sittings but never forget about them, really recommend for those who look to have a great evening playing with a friend, also this game has a 2 player mode wich also is very well designed
some moves feel a bit janky but is a pretty solid game overall

this game is SOO good. the music the gameplay OMFG PEAK
Had the game on a different platform. Bought it on discount to support the devs and leave this positive review.
This is an indie project. I give indie projects a bit of grace, usually- and I did with this one as well. They have some charming aspects in the game such as the artstyle, and the developers are pretty cool people that put in all kinds of fan-art as collectibles within the game itself. The music is also pretty good, and the whole reason I looked into this game at all. It is truly unfortunate that the gameplay itself is just.. bad. Limited to zero camera controls at times, a chaotic mess of details to pay attention to all at once, and the players are not tied into the rhythm aspect of the game at all. It is confusing and disjointed and feels terrible to play. There is platforming to do in and out of combat and this also feels bad due to poor jumping, bouncing off of terrain, etc. The first two boss fights were very boring and indirect as well. I have played many rhythm games and action games alike, and I don't think this does either one well. The voice acting and script is also goofy t...
