If you looking for a weekend game, this will be it. This game will be complete on a 1st round rather quickly for any experience platformer. It's a one shot kill game that have no mercy, which can be frustrating for sure. It's more of a agility, speed and timing game, rather than a strategic combat one. What is it to know : - The mobs are not very diverse, I count about 8 differents monsters (boss included) + the final boss. Mobs are not much of a challenge in the game, more a nuisance in your agility course. So if you looking for a rich combat experience platform, you might want to look elsewhere - I had high hope for the story, but it end up feeling...well rather incomplete and not very deep. You know those games that you REALLY try to like but halfway through you realize the novelty has worn off about an hour ago? And then you're like "Well, I started playing. Might as well try to finish!" and then the next few hours were some of the most frustrating bull you've experienced? That's Elypse for me. The game started off pretty fun. Admittedly it feels a lot, and I mean A LOT, like Ori, but I'm fine with that! I loved the platforming in that game, and the movement felt so good! And then I got to about 2 hours in. And the vertical chase with the dark floor that rises really got me mad. The hitboxes felt far too large and the red slug enemies kept sniping me from OFF SCREEN and the white spheres that give you a orange charge kept not registering and it started to make me upset. Then I got to the Surface. And the final area. And I don't think I have it in me to complete the game. I'm at the electric boss probably RIGHT BEFORE the end and I just can't play this game anymore withou...
