The game just felt clunky right off the rip. No display options, so it doesn't support widescreen, and I had to play in windowed mode. The way the UI was done, where you needed to click on small tabs, felt jarring and tedious. It would have been a smoother experience if the hub area had let you walk around to access the different npcs. The UI for upgrades and inventory also felt overly convoluted and confusing for what this game needed. For the actual gameplay itself, I only played the first two levels, and I was already bored with it. It quickly devolved to just standing ground and attacking. The tower defense part of the game barely mattered when you can finish levels without it. You also have different options from your arsenal, like items/abilities, but I never felt the need to use them when the normal attack is enough to get through. Great idea, but executed poorly. Castle of Alchemists is an action-RPG and tower defence hybrid where you take on the role of Bellator, an alchemically enhanced super soldier and fight against relentless hordes of enemies from other worlds.
Craft items with randomised abilities that only a super soldier can wield, lay down deadly traps and build towers, mutate and advance to your perfection.
Crush hordes of enemies as you reclaim the castle from the invaders piece by piece. If they come by the thousands, by the thousands they shall fall.

The tower defense aspect, the main genre, may as well not exist in the first place. Items and towers act as a secondary help and not a real strategy. You have too little budget to make a reliable strategy. I still would've marked this one as "recommended" due to its potential but there are quiet a lot of bugs in the game. Some sprites never leave the screen, there is a %60 chance that the game will shut itself down after the studio intro. It may be worth giving a shot if you're interested in a top-down action RPG but the TD part was unsatisfactory at best.

Fun tower defense with role playing aspects. I like the ability to upgrade your character. Good variety of enemy types and trap types.
El juego se vuelve repetitivo muy rapidamente. Mas alla de conseguir trampas y equipamiento nuevo, las mecanicas iniciales no han variado. Los enemigos solo cambian de color pero no introducen nada nuevo. Te podes quedar quieto disparando desde lejos y es suficiente para pasar los niveles.
