About the Game

This craft automation game brings you the most tempting features:

  • Tiny robots
  • Visual programming (for tiny robots)
  • Crafting (performed by tiny robots)
  • A rocket (carrying one tiny robot)
  • Story (see below)
  • A frozen planet to terraform

You land on a frozen planet with an important mission: to make it habitable. To do that, you’d need to harvest resources, craft tools, burn fires, melt the ice, plant trees and produce oxygen. Estimated time for the task: over 9000 years.

Or you can make robots to do that for you!

Enter CraftoMate! They can be scripted with visual programming to perform all kinds of tasks.

More importantly, they can be assembled and upgraded with surrounding materials.

Even more importantly: you can program them to harvest and craft those materials and eventually become a sustainable workforce, capable of terraforming the entire planet.

Just don’t forget to feed them once in a while… Though you can program them to do it themselves, too.

I check back in every few releases, but this game is just way too click-y for my enjoyment. The UI lags, there are some keyboard navigation options but for the most part it's drag-and-drop to do _anything_, and on a sufficiently big monitor that becomes a huge pain. Plus, misclicks are so rampant since the stupid bots are coresident on any square, making picking the right one about half the battle. And, in the same vein as misclicks, if you happen to drop an item on a square just as a bot travels onto that square, the bot will eat it. No matter what it is. I hope by the time this game is something like 2.0 it'll care about the UX of its users, but for now it's just one huge bundle of frustration

Awesome little automation game that makes you think but also allows you to turn your brain off and just have fun. Progression feels a little slow but then again so am I.

I love the game already. I need a bit more guidance though with coding. Variable handling not always working as expected for me. But maybe it is just because I don't understand some nodes well enough. There are a lot of coding features I don't even use, since my coding knowledge is limited. Maybe some examples would help for general variable handling, object variable handling, and coordinate variable handling. I would like to see some features: - mass handling robots. For e.g it would be nice to pause a whole group at the same time if I want to spare some batteries until it's storage is filled by another group. It seems, I just can't manage the energy needs well enough of 40+ robots, I am always short on batteries. - embedding groups into each other: +1-2 depth would be nice. - cycling through the robots in the current order on the list and not based on assembly order. - ctrl + z would be nice when programming robots... I accidentally deleted an entire production line. (ctr + c,v wo...

It's a pretty fun little logic game. There isn't too much there at the moment, but if you're the type of person to sync hours into optimizing and debugging logic problems it can be a pretty fun time.
