This is getting a thumbs up because I believe in the project and love that it is unique, though i'm not currently enjoying it. Played the first mission with a 5 person group, the game feels like it's trying to do too many things at the same time. It's real time/turn-based with a rogue-like deck building system, which is vague and overall confusing. The UI is unfortunately unresponsive and makes playing feel needlessly sticky. The level also takes way too long to have a betrayer aspect. My group just didn't give a damn about betraying anyone once we realized we were locked into a long match of multi layered puzzle solving that requires note taking and multiple quests to be tracked simultaneously, especially when almost every room required cooperation from the group to navigate. My main feedback to the devs would be: - Make matches shorter. If you are going to do the betrayer aspect, locking someone into that role for a long time just feels strange. I wanted this aspect to be more sn...

About This Game
Eyes of Hellfire is an atmospheric gothic horror experience for you and up to 4 of your friends. Based on real Irish legends of the secret society known as the Hellfire Club, in Eyes of Hellfire you and your friends are trapped within the club’s headquarters, an abandoned hunting lodge. Enter the grounds of the Hellfire Club, cautiously explore, co-operate, evade the violent entities within the lodge, and discover what you can while you each attempt to lift your curse. Escape before your soul is lost. Be warned! In these walls something, or someone, is always lying.

By downloading Friend's Pass*, up to 4 friends can play for free when 1 friend owns the game.
1. Own Eyes of Hellfire
2. Friends download Friend's Pass
3. Owner invites friends to play via Steam
4. Play the full first scenario together!
*Full game ownership includes meta character progression, additional card unlocks, and customisation. These are unavailable when playing using the Friend’s Pass

You and your friends play as a small group of unfortunate people who have recently discovered that they have each become a victim of a potentially fatal curse. They have hiked through the thick woods of the Dublin mountains and travelled to the ruins of the Hellfire Club in the hopes of discovering what connects them to this place and what, or who, has brought this curse upon them all.

You and your team have a common goal of escaping the haunted lodge while also defeating the Antagonist. But you each also have hidden solo objectives. Which will you prioritize? You must succeed at both to win. Use proximity voice chat to plot together with teammates, as well as question their motives.

Choose from a variety of characters, with their own strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Your choice will impact what you see in each play session; you’ll have to decide if it’s real or not.
Build your hand of actions: Each playthrough you start with a hand of cards that equal actions that can be done each turn, limited by your action points. As you explore the lodge, you’ll discover new and better action cards to alter your playthrough.

Had a good time playing with friends, but it got frustrating fast. If even one of us (out of five) hit a bug or got disconnected, it would crash everyone’s game when they tried to rejoin. Since bugs and random disconnects are bound to happen, this killed the fun pretty quickly. I get that it’s early access and some rough edges are expected, but this particular issue kind of ruined the experience when you play for 3 hours and lose all your progress. (Not to mention can't refund it now.)
Super atmospheric and gothic, keeps you on the edge of your seat. Fantastic experience with friends, particularly with voice chat - adds another dimension to the unique gameplay. Highly recommended!
I’ve played one game of this with my friends, and overall we had a great time. I’m a big fan of games like Betrayal at the House on the Hill and Mansions of Madness, and this gave me a similar vibe. That said, the game currently relies less on its “social deception” mechanics, which makes it feel more like a cooperative puzzle game than a hidden-traitor experience. I feer that this might hurt the replayability of the game. However, looking at the Eyes of Hellfire roadmap, I see the devs are planning to add more curses, and I really hope these will bring more impact to the gameplay. We did run into a few bugs while playing, but most were minor, and the ones that weren’t already seem to have been patched. Honestly, I’m impressed with how smoothly it ran - especially considering that it is an early access game, and that we played it on launch day. Things I’d love to see added: - A proper save system, so you don’t have to block out three hours of your day every time you w...
The game is very fun to play with your friends, and has a lot of cool mechanics that make for interesting gameplay. Overall very excited to try out the next scenarios, and the game is priced super cheaply (10 bucks for a group of 5 people to play it is a steal). It plays like a board game but with all the mechanics streamlined for online play. My only issue is that sometimes it was a little clunky to interact with some stuff, especially when there are people nearby. Overall a lot of potential and worth picking up if you want to try some new horror friendslop.
A little learning curve and definitely a time commitment (save states coming apparently), but even people not into card games can pick this up pretty quickly. Understandably bugs since it's an early access game but can see in the dev discord that it's just a small indie team working on it. Lots of potential.
Impressed so far - fun, intuitive, stylish design, atmospheric with nice voice-work - Good stuff! Super to see an Irish company producing really quality work and looking forward to see how the build upon this early access release. There's a few small bugs, which were to be expected, but still had fun time playing through the initial scenes with a couple of friends. Added bonus is the price point and the support of multi-player on a single purchase!
interesting game, broken as fuck though, hard to play with people has potential to be really cool once bugs are less present
Overall a good game with interesting mechanics HOWEVER if a player disconnects and rejoins the game will crash. The player who rejoined will not be able to get past the gathering and the rest of the players will be frozen. Out of the five people playing, two people ran into the disconnecting issue which caused us to start twice from the start. Hope to see this bug fixed soon because this is too long of a game (3+ hours in one sitting) to be losing progress like that.
I only played the Tutorial so far but really like how the game plays. For now I will recommend it just on the potential it has. https://youtu.be/frGiPBDej44?si=xhB9ekX3fdrVNP3Q
