Clank!

I love Clank, I own Clank Catacombs and I hope to buy the expansions. The game is so much fun and really helps in not needing to set up the board game cutting down on the time and streamlining a lot of the admin. There are so many different ways to build your deck, the different challenge modes are fun to play through and the online play works great! My only complaint is that the game is still quite buggy and its expensive. You need at least 2 people to play and each person needs to buy their own copy so if I wanted to play with 4 people that would be about $90, not including DLCs. There aren't any game breaking bugs but sometimes just buttons get stuck, your path doesn't show up, all small things that negatively effect the QOL. I love this game however and I have played 3 clank games in a row before so please buy it its a lot of fun!

I really enjoy this game, it's a faithful representation of the board game that feels like playing the real thing. However, I cannot recommend it as a Couch Co-op experience, as the Pass and Play option is extremely buggy. When switching turns with the next human player, you'll usually encounter a glitch where you are left with invisible cards, and can't really interact with anything on the screen. Saving and reloading DOES fix this issue, but it adds a time-consuming wrinkle to what should otherwise be a fun experience, especially when the glitch can pop up multiple times during a single game. Sometimes you'll need to do this after every second turn. The glitch is still present as of the most recent update (2.1.0 at the time of writing).

I love Clank, and this implementation is very good. However, I cannot recommend it based on a single fact: the speed of AI turns. Yes, I have "Fast mode" on, but waiting 40 seconds in between my turns, and spending only minority of the game actually playing, that unfortunately makes this implementation really hard for me to enjoy. It is at the point where I have to have something to look at or read on other screen while the AI turns are sluggishly playing out. Just give me a slider that enables up to 5x speed of the turn evaluation, and I will be happy.

For those who have played and enjoyed the table top version this is a really excellent port to the digital realm. It takes away the fiddly aspect of the table top version. One quirk is there is no ability to reset the challenges. But I found I was able to uninstall and reinstall which reset the challenges.

CLANK! the board game is one of the best games ever, and this has the same feel with some cool quirky animation and the ability to play with people not co-located. The heists and challenges are intriguing. Looking forward to more maps, options, and 5-6 player options!

A fun board game with an excellent conversion to digital. Easy to pick up and play within minutes even if never having played the physical game.
