amazingly simple, addictive and fun. I own a lot of retro/boomer shooters and this captures the essence of it really well. I usually prefer my games to have quality of life inputs, ducking jumping etc. but this plays perfectly without those elements.

It's quite a decent game, but the gameplay is getting worse and worse as you progress through the game. There are too many weapons, too many spells, too many items. Each of them has a unique key, so you can't rebind your weapon key. Think about why Doom 2016 changed chainsaw and BFG9000 keys. Using all 1 ~ 8 weapon keys, separated four spells(also using 4 different keys), over 10+ types of items to activate F and swap with R and T, M to throw a magical grenade(I forgot the name)... Level design is also getting awkward, you easily lose your way, map navigation keeps pointing to BS areas... So many things keep making you annoying as hell. The game is fun, but I couldn't recommend it to my friends.
Excellent game! I've played my fair share of boomer shooters and many of them end up feeling very similar. Wizordum sets itself apart from the gameplay, to the fantastic visuals all through a very well-paced campaign. If you're on the fence & you think this game could be your style then take my word for it that you won't be disappointed!
What can I say? I absolutely love Wizordum. I've been waiting for this one to come out of early access for some time and I love it. This is the perfect Wolfenstein/Hexen crossover, a boomer shooter (god I hate that term, Shouldnt it be gen x shooter instead?) for the ages (let's just start calling it retro FPS, fuck it). It definitively feels like Apogee is back from the dead and I'm really digging it. 5/5
This game gives you so many fun weapons and spells to fight the forces of chaos. The pacing is excellent both in terms of difficulty and the world building. It feels like you're playing classic DOOM in a very polished DnD world. Well worth it!
Wizordum is one of those games that makes you smile as you play. It’s fast, colorful, challenging, and creative. If you love retro shooters or just want something fresh and magical, this is absolutely worth it!
Steamdeck controls are pretty poor (left arrow to cycle right through item menu???) but gameplay and vibes are spot-on.
This game Apogees.
game kinda terrible play project warlock instead
Wolfenstein meets Ulitma Underworld together to create a FPS that stands up on it's own in a sea of classics and newbies. Wizordum is a Retro FPS game developed by Emberheart Games and published by Apogee Entertainment. It follows a Mage/Sorceress as they travel throughout the land of Terrabruma fighting back against the legion of Chaos. Taking heavy influence from pre-Doom FPS games, the game presents itself as a basically an expanded version of shooters using the "dated" 90 Degree Wall look but being able to have way more elaborate level design, set pieces, and enemy/weapon combat. There's even a built-in level editor, complete with more extensive modding tools. It's very clear what Wizordum is trying to imitate but does it in a way where it still stands on it's own rather it just being a "clone" of what it's paying homage to. Gameplay of Wizdorum is the Retro FPS classic of 3 different episode each with levels that promote big levels filled with secrets, keys, and even more secre...
