About This Game
Hundreds of years before Geralt and other witchers roamed the Continent, the Conjunction of the Spheres brought endless ranks of monsters into the world. Humanity desperately needed a way to fight back the onslaught to survive.
Follow the journey of a young and ambitious mage, Alzur, and his companion Lily, who embark on a dangerous quest to create a living weapon that will eradicate the monster threat once and for all.
No holding back: Battles last only one round, so players will need to use every trick up their sleeve to help Alzur stave off the onslaught.
New resource — energy: Each turn, Alzur can cast powerful spells from his ever-expanding Grimoire by spending energy. It can be replenished between battles by visiting Places of Power or through random encounters on the map.
Turning the tables: Alzur starts at a disadvantage by not being able to react to the opponents’ final card play. By progressing the campaign and unlocking high-end bonuses, players can take complete control of the battle flow.
Every run is different: Once Alzur completes the first two experiments, Curses become unlocked. These flexible difficulty modifiers ramp up the variety in each run, and provide players with a greater challenge every time.

User Reviews
I tried to like this one, but it's not good. If you have played GWENT and/or Thronebreaker, the main GWENT rules are different and not enjoyable, also the matches plays out roughly the same which makes it difficult to like. If you haven't played the upmentioned games and/or just want to enjoy this as a rougelike card game you will quickly face how luck based Rouge Mage is. Sure, a card game is pretty much luck based, but the AI is really into pulling cards which can turn the whole game around and have an unlucky run because you have a decision between bad and worse. The playthrough also gets flat after you play a few matches or even finish a run, which just makes the rougelike elements and replayability worse. I can't recommend this to anyone, not even if you are remotely interested in this. It's not worth it, just play GWENT or Thronebreaker and forget this Single Player Expansion's existance.
Not a bad game ^^
"Ah people's opinion must be wrong, the game can't be that bad" - a few runs were kinda fun but the progression system is horrible, builds become more unlikely rather than consistency building up and the difficulty after beating maybe each boss once (i.e. lowest difficulty) becomes just stupidly unfair. 2/10 because maybe the first 3-5 hours were kinda fun
I got this game for free on gog launcher years ago, recently got it on steam to play on my steamdeck and man, its gotta be one of the best games I have in my library. The replayability is there, hundreds of hours and still not bored!
The perfect blend of Gwent and Roguelite mechanics.
There are just to many elements to the game that just doesn't make sense. My recommendation, stick to the PvP side.
