Quite weak as far as Telltale Games go. As a fan of The Expanse, I'm eager to see more of this setting and to that end this game manages to capture the feel pretty well, but sadly it doesn't really expand on much. I would've loved to see Ganymede or a Martian battleship but most of the game is spent floating around dark tunnels of ruined space ships. Other more interesting locations are limited to a room or two. The objectives don't require much thinking effort, meaning navigating these dark hallways starts getting tedious. Drummer's story is too thin to be stretched over 5 episodes and yet you don't get much time to bond with the characters. I expected more personal dilemma's, more intercharacter politics, social maneuvring, perhaps executing a well-prepared shipbattle strategy but alas, such moments are few and fleeting. I'd recommend it for fans of The Expanse as it captures the vibe pretty well and it's a joy to see/hear Cara Gee and Shohreh Aghdashloo reprise their fantastic c...

About This Game
A TELLTALE STORY LIKE NO OTHER
Immerse yourself in the role of Camina Drummer, the Executive Officer aboard the Artemis, a scavenging ship hunting for a big score in the outer regions of the Belt. You must corral a crew rife with tense relationships and powerful personalities, and make tough decisions that will decide everyone’s fate.

Scour shipwrecks, use mag boots to walk on walls and ceilings, and utilize zero-g thrusters to float through the void. As you fly through sections of ships and the open expanse of space, interact with objects in the world and converse with members of the crew in the largest and most immersive exploration of any Telltale game to date.
DIFFICULT CHOICES, GRAVE CONSEQUENCES
Contend with the unforgiving brutality of space, the politics of a corrupt solar system, the animosities of your crew, and Drummer’s own conflicting responsibilities to the people she cares about and the Belt she has sworn to protect. Drummer was one of my favorite characters in the show, and man this game does her dirty. I have no idea why I do this to myself, everytime I play a Telltale game I give it a shot with open mind and it always ends up the same. The action scenes are laughable, it's like everyone is moving on peg legs, there's a scene
Khan strangles a pirate with her artificial arm, while pirate still has the gun and could have easily shot the old hag point blank before she strangled him, yet he just lets the gun go
as one example. There is also nothing to explore, just some derelicts and an abandoned century old station that turned into a cult, and while their motivations were explained it felt so bare minimum, also when entering the station characters make note about old helmets and suits, making this station at least century old, yet in all pictures you find on it, are people wearing modern space suits, they didn't even bother with a detail like that. And overall writing is quite ...
Huge fan of The Expanse tv show and great fan of the Walking Dead version of Telltale, i was disappointed by this Telltale version of The Expanse universe. Way too short (about 10 hrs to finish with most every option unlocked).
A Strong Definition of Mixed Bag
I went into playing The Expanse with relatively high hopes knowing Telltale's line of work previously, but to quickly summarize here, it seems the quality most definitely dropped with this game. In reality, The Expanse does nail a good atmosphere, from the ship interiors to the bleakness of the belt, it’s clear that Deck Nine and Telltale understood the tone of the source material. Zero G exploration is a nice addition, however where the game falls very short is the fact that I found that there's no real urgency or immersion. The soundtrack was quite lackluster, and narrative conflicts either felt rushed or non impactful altogether. Apart from Zero G, the rest of the gameplay felt shallow, and aside from light scavenging and dialogue, there isn’t much to do. As with many Telltale games, the illusion of choice eventually shows cracks. By the time the finale rolls around, the outcomes don’t feel as divergent as players might hope, he...
Pretty boring game. Was good in the beginning but then descended into meh. The pirate ship that dogs the protaganist is awesome to look at; and the build up to the meeting the pirate leader is intense. I was expecting this cold blooded killer with a legion of elite soldiers, given the callous massacre they committed. But yeah, nah.....let down, is all I will say (don't wanna spoil it for ya.) The chapter saves are horrendous too. You miss something, you gotta start from the beginning all over. Given each chapter is around 45 minutes (?) I don't have that kinda time thanks. All the characters are forgettable (haven't played DLC yet), Drummer is kinda lifeless.... in the tv show she was mostly stoic, but as far as I recall she did have emotions and character from time to time. Not in this game. If you love the Expanse, you may like this game. If you haven't watched the show or read the books, this isn't for you. For me I might get around to playing the rest of the game and DL...
After playing a large portion of Telltale products, this was by far my least favorite. I played episode one through with almost every possible dialogue option (internal or external) in 48 minutes. It is painfully obvious that this game was only made in order to provide fan service for those who watch the tv series. Between the painful voice acting and graphics that resemble a jar of playdough; everything involved with this game should be jettisoned with the crew. In other series, characters are built up consistently and in turn make you feel the weight of your decisions. In the first episode, there was so little character development that choosing all of the worst options had zero affect on my emotions. They wasted so much time and money on this, meanwhile The Wolf Among Us season 2 has been "coming soon" for over a decade. The ONLY redeemable quality about this game was the zero gravity space walk stuff. Other than that one small quality, it's slop.
Toda gut beltalowda! Sa-sa que?
It's own story in Expanse lore, giving more depth to Drummer even though initially in hard to place timeline. Quite typical of a Telltale walking simulator with not that much to actually play (and at least some early side missions stupidly placed in "no you can't go back there anymore" zones). But all in all, atmospheric in Expanse and that's always a huge plus - especially with Cara Gee.
I'm a huge fan of The Expanse franchise but this game ain't good. Visually it's ugly. Animations and facial expressions are uncanny. Graphics are super outdated. It looks like a mobile game and not a PC game released at the end of 2023. Writing is meh. Characters are uninteresting, even Drummer. Controls are clunky. Gameplay is repetitive. No matter how good an IP is it can't carry a kaka game.
This is meh, not worth the full price. Very slow, choice doesn't impact much of anything, some good voice actors, some bad ones. Lots of walking in a straight line in a corridor or mine shaft. Do not waste your time, even if you are a massive fan of the book or show.
