I bought this game on sale knowing that it had some negative reviews, but I think those reviews were way too harsh. Yeah, the game has some jank, but it is a perfectly quaint little fishing game to sink some time into if you have the patience. The ambiance is nice, and I appreciate that there's more to collect than just fish (you almost never see beach glass in games that take place on beaches!) This was a nice mental getaway, to just take some time to fish and relax.

I just finished 100%ing this game, and while I got it for a steal (£0.60 on sale) I don't think I can recommend it. If I were to give it a score out of 100, it would be 40. So, what I liked: - Cozy, low pressure game - Varying fishing mechanics - Limited but very good music What I didn't like: - No "point" to catching the fish, beyond a premise of a university project. Some kind of fetch quests for the random people on the island (one of which literally has no name and no point) would have made this more satisfying, especially if they could give you specific hints about where to find the fish they asked for. - No hints about where to find fish, unless you look up the dev's notes. That makes it easier, but not significantly so. - It's named after an island in Scotland but looks like it should be in the Mediterranean. - It should have been a 2.5-3hr game, it took me just over 4, I think, and I saw one reviewer it had taken 7.5 - that's due to not being able to find...

It's a collectors game. You fish and you collect artifacts, that's the game. Simple and to the point. There's 3 different fishing mechanics that are easy to master. The ambiance of the game is relaxing. Bought it on discount, for the price it was worth the 3 hours of game play.

decently fun, i think it could be greatly improved by some kind of consumable bait to increase rare fish's spawn chances. cause the grind to get the rarer ones can take a while, AND it would provide a use for money after you've gotten the upgrades. saw someone else suggest silly hats which i would accept as well tbh. while the normal fishing mechanic did get a bit tedious after a while i actually rather enjoyed the fly fishing mechanic, it felt more engaging/dynamic than the method u use everywhere else got it for 69¢ (nice) so i'd say it was worth it but idk if i'd get it at full price? maybe i would. i dunno.
