This game is almost everything I'd ever want from a Wuxia game. It's a not too serious cultivation sim where fights happen over incredibly stupid things, everyone knows high level kungfu and uses it to hop around and do their daily tasks. It's like Kenshi in a lot of delightful ways, but also serves as a much more traditional RPG. And like Kenshi there is also a very lively modding comunity on the steam workshop. It is awesome, and the play time on my account is straight BS bc I am often playing the game on my deck when I am away from home. So why the negative review you ask? Because they keep breaking things. I know games are hard to make but between the nearly unintelligible gibberish they call an English translation, and the uninformative english versions of their patchnotes that they have a hard time dealing with English. Not a problem there is a mod to fix that. What mods can't fix is the spaghetti code that makes up their engine, AI, and systems. I haven't been able to really pla...

About the Game
The Matchless KungFu is an open world RPG game based on a WuXia background. You can play any martial arts role you imagine in this wild world. Travel through the great wilderness, or be the leader of the group. The most important thing is, build your own story and live the experience!
You can build your mini worlds from start to make them meet your needs. Every land block has its unique environment, resource, creature or clans. You can also generate several bigger worlds which already have plenty of land masses for you to challenge!
Define your own character for each life! One life is definitely not enough to experience the world of The Matchless Kungfu!

which allows you to release different moves, build your own skill deck to defeat(or not) the enemy -- in a stylish way! Additionally, the game features an entertaining "verbal combat" system. By unlocking verbal combat techniques, you can defeat your opponents without engaging in physical fights.

The Meridian system allows you to run different kinds of Inner Kungfu, provides various buffs, and ways to deal with inner wounds, hidden diseases, illness and other debuffs. You will “run yourself” like those heroes does in Wuxia novels!

Tavern, spring, jail and sweet home. Build your structures freely, and make them function!
You can set up your own equipment production line in your blacksmith shop.

Various and always updating interactives with NPCs. Team up with your NPC friends or family, have a warm night with your beloved, pray for a child and raise the offsprings. Burn the house, pet the animals and let them help you, build your own clan, give orders to your fellows, throw the ones you hate into the jail...

Players can freely establish their own sects, recruit disciples, manage sect facilities, and oversee land taxes. In addition, players can tame animals in the game, each with its own auxiliary functions: for example, monkeys can beg, horses can be ridden and used to modify carriages, snakes can assist in lockpicking, and more. Players can also train their stealth abilities, combining special equipment and skills to become a master thief in the martial world

User Reviews
this game has its charm, but it also has its issues, and seeing as this is a negative reviews im going to focus on those. many people compare this game to kenshi, which id say is absolutely fair, however, compared to kenshi, it falls short in many ways. in the amount of content, in how smooth it plays (yes, in comparison to this game, kenshi's interfaces are smooth as butter). the combat gameplay is quite fun, but much like the rest of the game, there is only so much there to change it up, and for something youll be doing for a good 70% of your time in the game, its not enough to keep you entertained for all of this. i decided to play the game unmodded, save for the English translation (which i either failed to notice an additional setting to activate it, or it didnt help much) and maybe the game gets much better with mods, but on its own its sadly not much to look at. final notes: following quests is difficult, you can get stuck at many points. there are features that should be imp...
I am in love with this game. I think many Kenshi lovers are going to be attracted to this game, but let's start off by saying forget about the Kenshi comparisons. This game is not Kenshi, not even close. I love Kenshi, but everything about this game is more complex and deep than Kenshi. This is a unique game, so unique that it deserves to be in a genre of its own. Let's start with the combat. This game has a unique combat system that no other game on the market has. The combat is challenging at first, and may turn some people off, but once you figure it out it is incredibly rewarding, easily one of the most engaging combat systems out of any game I've ever played. It's so weird that I really can't explain it. Next, is the unique world building aspect of the game. This is not a game where you just spawn into a massive, complete world like Kenshi. You need to do the completing. You start off in one small square, introducing you to the first area unlock, which immediately caught me off gu...
........... crash
The progression is very unsatisfying; You start off as a completely useless, incompetent plebeian; Then you either stay a plebeian your entire life or pass on your shitty genes, so your kids can be mildly less useless. After that you get tired of everybody walking up to you and beating you up as they please, so you look up how to make a strong character and become a literal demi-god in about 2 hours. Until you decide to get as strong as possible, the game is infuriating to play. The only things you can fight and win against are chickens and other small animals. 95% of the human population can beat you up without breaking a sweat. Have a bit of money? Some dude walks up to you, kicks your shit in and and takes it all. Said something bad to someone that offended them? A member of their family with 10k vigor got mad, chased you across the entire map, broke your legs and took everything in your inventory (real stories). After looking up a guide, unlocking a few perks and transcending, th...
Like Kenshi but for Wuxia. It still needs quite a bit of bug fixing and polish, and the English translation needs some work, but it's understandable enough and it's a fun game even with it's problems. If you like Kenshi and/or you like Wuxia, you'll probably enjoy it.
Cool idea wasted on lazy devs
pretty fun i dropped it because a part of the main story wasnt working for me but this was a while ago could be fine now the combats a little repetitive but i think if the game functions its pretty fun.
great choice to move to open world!
I AM XIAO YAN. 10/10
