THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD: Remake

Bought this game for nostalgia reasons, and I figured the Steam Deck's gyro would make it feel more like using the old light gun. I just had to increase the sensitivity. Had a good time beating it for the first time ever! Zero issues with me steam deck even though the game is listed as unsupported!

There is no lightgun support... in a lightgun game?! There are so many lightgun peripherals available right now on PC I still can't understand this decision. Steer clear if you were hoping for it. Steer clear of the sequel too as they have shown no intention of adding support.

The only scary thing about this game is how much effort it takes just to get past the main menu. I tried every fix I could find online, and it still crashed every single time. It’s less of a horror game and more of a "Unity Crash Simulator" (x.x)/

Bought this game because of nostalgia , gameplay was okay but performance is lacking. Using mouse and keyboard is also...quite broken. The game is also quite short but this might be because it stems from an arcade game. Give the game a shot assuming it's on 90% discount, PLEASE DO NOT BUY IT AT FULL PRICE!

Yup, the negative reviews are all true. Game constantly crashes even when you apply the fixes suggested in the forum...

Only complaint is it's not VR. Runs great, plays great, just like the arcade. Just need some guns. (its fine with mouse, maybe too easy) It really should be a VR title.

Devolopers made a light gun game that is incompatible with ALL lightguns. Yes you can get a mod to make it 'work' but none of the money paid to the developers is going to that mod maker. Do not support this kind of laziness.

Just finished House of the Dead: Remake with 100% complete. It was fun and brought back old memories. The new graphics are nice, and the gameplay feels smooth. Can’t wait to play House of the Dead 2: Remake tomorrow!

Now, this is quite fun to play and it's almost close to the arcade port/version of this game here. So, the reviews say that it crashes on launching the game, there is a pass or a bypass of that. What you need to do is go to setting and go to properties and enter this here: -window-mode And it should hopefully run it like normal and not sluggish at all.

Saw this game on Sale for 90%, and seeing the catastrophic launch of HOTD 2 Remake, I need to try the Prequel. NGL, this game is pretty bad with todays standard lmao. BUT, this game is still super fun to play! seeing all the achievements and reliving all the good old days of On Rail Shooters, this Game is so worth it! 90% Off for this game is worth it for what you get, and i hope that other studios will remake all of the good old On Rails Shooter Franchise, like Time Crisis, Virtua Cop and ETC.
