There is no sound , Not because space is quiet but because there’s nothing left to say Only your footsteps remain, heavy against the cold metal floor… and your breathing, turning shallow as if even your own body wants to give up The monsters may come from the dark but the real terror doesn’t live in the shadows it lives inside you The fear of being alone Of not being heard Of dying in a place where no one even knows you’re still alive Your body grows heavier Your weapon is just a piece of metal that gives you a false sense of safety Every time you open a door you don’t know if you’ll find a way out or if you’re about to be dragged deeper into a hell that tears you apart The lights flicker The power fails And the sounds… the sounds come from behind the walls Screeches that don’t sound human anymore , if they ever were And you… You’re just a person Not a hero. Not a soldier Just a damn engineer who never thought he’d end up here But now, you cut, burn and tear...

A Dead Space 2 remake would've been great, it would've been beautiful. Fuck EA for not going forward with it.

I cannot recommend this, not because the game is bad, but because EA has refused to fix the major stuttering issues even years after launch. Even though the game has a shader compilation step, stutter is ever present. It is ever present, and every single moment of gameplay is hampered heavily. Play this on a console instead, or do not play this at all. Do not ruin you experience with a stutter filled mess.

So 2 years after launch and the nauseating stutters are ever present? Should rather play the og and spare yourself some time troubleshooting this buggy mess. The vibe's cool and all but DOES NOT justify the price tag when you can't even walk without the game stuttering like an old woman on crack.

I can’t think of any negatives about this game. The developer nailed it to perfection. I almost never replay anything, yet I did three playthroughs in quick succession… no further comment needed.

Remake pros: + nice visuals + isaac's VA still got it + turbo buffed flamethrower makes the combat bearable Remake cons: - all weapons apart from flamethrower and contact were nerfed hard - overbusy visuals with less meaningful detail - mediocre cutscene animations - engine stutter, more often the further you get - controls randomly won't work, especially in combat (wanted to stasis someone? fuck you) - every single plot change is for the worse, with some godawful character writing - new gameplay sections are somehow worse than original, yes, turrets included - completely unnecessary open world design with worthless sidequests and backtracking - bugs, bugs, bugs

Can't recommend on Steam Deck, fan was never that loud before, console did never get that hot before. Absolutely does not deserve the "Verified"-tag.
Dead Space
Dead Space is one of the most praised classics out there, so I decided to give it a shot since it also looked pretty interesting, and I've gotta say, it was a pretty good experience. The ambience is great, the visuals are fantastic, the gameplay is pretty fun and while the story may be a bit lackluster in my opinion, it is still interesting enough to keep you playing. I did find some things to be annoying or flawed, like, for example, it seemed like the game gave me all the resources I needed at the moment instead of having me manage what I had picked up, this makes for a less interesting experience imo and sometimes plays out more like a normal shooter (especially near the end). Anyways, there are more flaws I would point out, like how the game becomes a bit too repetitive at times or how the story is told, but I would have to get into some more specific details. Complaints aside, I'd give it a 7/10, definitely recommend it to horror fans.

Dead Space (2023) is one of the few new remakes that actually makes it worth playing over the original, having an almost perfect execution of the formula. +Surprised by the seamless and almost instant loading times. +The graphic and atmospheric improvement is insane, making the USG Ishimura even more of a claustrophobic and grotesque place to explore. +The new visual effects when dismembering necromorphs are amazing and the gory feel of the original was kept and improved a ton. +The sound design and soundtrack accompanying the gameplay is insane. +Playing with KB and mouse isn't as bad now +Most of the janky level design choices of the original got ironed out and the progression is semi-linear now. +Added secondary missions that don't feel like a drag and actually contribute to the story properly. +The new models for the suits and weapons are pure eye candy (they also get stained with blood when fighting or get frozen up in vacuum sections). +Rewriting some (minor) parts of th...
