Fun game with potential, but in the two years since the early access came out very few meaningful updates have come out, and I actually think many of the changes to the game have hurt the gameplay. For as much as this game costs I can't currently recommend it, but if someday the developer decides to actually create more levels then it might be worth it then.

About This Game
・Combos you earn, more classic controls become.
A combo system that raises the rank by defeating enemies in a row is implemented. There are 7 ranks, and the higher the rank, the more the reticle contracts, the recoil decreases, the classic like movement speed , and it approaches the classic operation mode. However, the higher the rank, the greater the rate of decrease of the combo gauge and the more difficult it is to maintain the buff. The highest rank "SSS" will be in slow motion and the gauge will decrease slowly.
・The means of recovery is a enemy Gib
You can recover your health and combo gauge by eating the gib that scatter when you defeat the enemy. The more combo ranks you earn, the more gib you have, and the more you move forward, the more opportunities you have for recovery and combo maintenance.
・Weapon Ammo Shop
You can buy weapons from vending machines with "Meat mileage points" that you accumulate from the amount of meat pieces you eat. The price is set high at first, but the more you buy, the higher your membership rank in the store will be, so you can buy weapons and ammunition cheaply an eat.
・Dual wild that can be freely combined
The easy-to-use dual wild system allows you to instantly switch between two-handed weapons (separate combinations are possible). Simply hold down the weapon key or select the weapon on the weapon wheel and click the mouse corresponding to your arm.
・Custom Engine with Raycasting rendering
The custom engine used for VRG is GPU-based raycasting for all voxels, billboards, shadows, bumps and reflections, and all textures are 64x64 pixels with no translucency (not including the UI). All textures are 64x64 pixels with no translucency (not including the UI), a nod to the Wolfesntein3D era of FPS and an experiment to see how far raycasting can take us.
・Other Futures
- A practice area where you can try out all weapons and change the terrain.
- Horde mode, which can be played in about five minutes per game.
- Gameplay options. (checkpoint, perma death, pistol start, etc...)
- Retro CRT filter.

V.R.G. feels like a game where someone decided they wanted to put all of their idea into one game. That isn't a bad thing for this game however as what's there is pretty fun. It's just a blast running around shooting random wizards without much thought, just go crazy with all of it's mechanic and be creative. What's in the game right now is pretty short but it isn't a bad thing however as both of the episodes that are offered currently are very replayable. I would definitely recommend playing this game if you want a parkour boomer shooter to be played in short-bursts if you feel like it. Can't wait for the coming updates for this game.
Incredibly fun! Don't be fooled by the simple visuals, this is one of the most satisfying movement shooters you can get right now, and can easily compete with games like Titanfall 2 or Doom Eternal. Criminally underrated.
Imagine a tech demo about the best of retro shooters Also, I love that the main image of the game is a reference to Hardcore Henry
Gameplay itself is amazing. Interesting mix of retro and modern mechanics. Though it needs much more content to justify the price. There are currently only 2 episodes(I played through the first in the demo). Each ep is broken up into 10 levels. They took me about an hour each. 2 hours of play time for 10.99 is a bit steep imo.
Great Game and hoping for the best.
I love how fun this game is, titanfall but retro shooter as well. It's a perfect recipe. The games levels are laid out like original doom, you have mini objectives with getting kills and picking up meat but nothing like a full collectible, hopefully that comes in the future. Even have some secret levels which is always nice. Honestly my only gripe about the game is that there are no achievements. But i can look past that given still in early access, and if you can't/don't want to justify the 12 dollars. Try the demo, its a full demo of the first episode about 25 minutes of content but no cut corners from the actual game.
Love the meaty shooting mechanics, and the parkour gives it that extra edge. Interesting enemies and engaging level design, but right now it does look plain. I hope the level editor will be extensive! You could really go ham with this. (It does chugs a bit for me; had to turn down the reflections.)
