About This Game

RPGScenery is a tool for pen and paper RPG game masters to help them visualize their stories and make the combat scenes more manageable.

In RPGScenery you are able to browse the released scenes, select the ones that fit the most of your campaigns and create playlists from them. You can support your stories by showing the players the locations where their adventures take place from various views or switch into map mode easily to simulate battles with the help of the customizable grid system.

Each scene is built in Unreal Engine 4 with stunning visuals and all of them are customizable which means that you can change the time and the weather by adjusting parameters like the amount of rain, snow, wind, fog, clouds, and time of the day in real-time.

RPGScenery not only provides participants with top-view battlemaps but is also a great tool for showing the scenes in 3D. With the pre-set cameras of each scene, GMs can view and show their players the surrounding from several angles. All the parameters set in the application are animated, including the weather, sunlight, and moonlight effects. Now the players can actually see the dark bushes swaying in wind, in the light of their campfire, or the scattered shine of the sun dancing on the surface of the flowing river they are planning to cross at the ford.

And when push comes to shove, the battle maps of the same scene tell them exactly how far they can move in a round, which enemy they can’t shoot at behind the rock, and tell the GM what their moves are going to be simply by pointing.

I mean... not bad for pre-made maps, but I'd love to be able to build my own. I cant' recommend it sadly. If it gains some customisation, and the ability to grow the size of maps, or maybe link maps together to make a full scene it might be good. I won't be using this in my games. It's good for virtually hanging out in the scenery though. 6/10 It runs, it does what it says it can do, but it needs more work to be usable in tabletop games.

I played with it for a short time. And I thought hey it's not too bad. Until I see all the other assets locked behind a DLC purchase. Amounting up to 296 CAD$$ ... Needless to say, for a new software without any kind of past track record nothing... this is WAY too much. No thanks, we will look elsewhere.

This product has been a disappointment. The maps are pretty, have good animation, and good customization with light and some weather effects. That's it for the Pros. The Cons are many. The maps are way too expensive for the use I get out of them. I'm sure it took time for them and they deserve to be paid for it but they are asking too much. Take the farm countryside scene. Due to the limitations of how far you can zoom, I can't get the full yard in one map, much less the farm house, yard, barn, field, and windmill all in one battle map. This has no way to stitch scenes together to create it, so I have to find a way to do that myself. The Mine map can't fit the full map on one either, so again, I need something else to make it useful. The Crypt is small, still doesn't fit on one map, and would take an adventuring group about fifteen minutes to finish. Not enough there. The Camp is useless as a battle map. It could create some nice 3D scenes to show players but as soo...

Just played around with it a little. All in all i find it a nice tool. Graphics are good, scenes are nice and weather customisation works good (e.g. campfires are on at night and off during the day) However, I don't think it's good for playing with a screen at the table, since theres no way to seperate between gamemaster screen and player screen (EDIT: Obviously there is a way to do that I just didn't find the option) Also I was hoping for more customisation. - Props I can place (make a ruin out of a dungeon). - Turning of lights in interiors (dwarven fortresses are mostly forgotten and empty in my worlds ) - Please let us zoom out further in custom camera mode. The map mode is quiete far away, the custom camera is a bit too close. - Please add a way to hide the complete UI (also the litthe button in the bottom right corner)

I bought this with the intention and hope of updates to allow more customization options... it's been months with no update after it came out and all the DLC is priced super high with just different scenes. Dead in the water. Do not buy. I'll change this review if anything actually changes.

Like most I just picked this up and have been messing with it. Granted it is made with UE4, I would love to see you allow community levels as well down the road. Being able to use the UE suite and make custom imports that look beautiful would be a godsend. I do wish that there were more assets to chose from. 32 DLC packs each $7.00 and no new minis kind of hurts. All in all though I can't wait to see what they do with it in the future.

Its nice, but most of the DLC is exotic locales and cant be used for any scenes in my world or any other world. The dev should be concentrating on more generic scenes. like a castle with simple interior. I cant use a war elephant, and if I did, it would see a one time use. The scenes of the dark castle have no interior? The ship has another ship beside it...cant use that. just wanted a single ship on the ocean. When I think of scenery, I think of a good location for role playing, not combat. A tavern, a sitting room, a library, a bedroom, a living room, the captains quarters, a throne room, etc...

I love the customization - weather, day/night cycle and seasons. Battlemaps and monster / player tokens are good improvements to enhance immersion. My favorite is the free camera mode.
