Most of my game play has been in the sandbox mode. I really like the game basics and overall look. As an actually table top gamer, I do not mind this visual part of the game and to be honest, I don't notice the bases of the units on land much. I like the simple control however, cannot see a way to select multiple units ? I have been limited in the sandbox mode only by the lack of more than one army, (Not the case of the AI players), I hope this will be a priority fix. Overall, for such a short time in early access, the product looks good, the game speed is good, slow enough to learn with a button to speed up when I got used to the controls(W.A.S.D movement, Q.E camera angle etc). Enough content for hours of play so far, especially as the map spawns slightly different each new game in sandbox mode,(placement of maroon and native towns). I look forward to what comes next.

About This Game
With a unique board game aesthetic, players will have to manage time, resources and armies via three seamlessly integrated game layers; a strategic overworld view of the Caribbean for logistics; a city building scape for production and training of units; a tactical map to defend or attack strongholds in sieges and deploy and maneuver units during tense battles
OVERWORLD (STRATEGIC LAYER)

In this mode, players start with one capital city and they will have to explore to find resources, construct buildings to extract them, in order to further improve their city. This economic layer is built around the relation of resources and production.
Players will have to battle against enemy empires competing for these resources and cities, they will also have to deal with both natives and maroon (escaped slaves) encampments, pirates who roam the map will routinely try to sack player-built structures and cities.
CITY BUILDING (MANAGEMENT LAYER)

In this mode, players will plan and build a new world city, deciding in which economic activities to focus and what types of workshops to construct, giving them access to different units, manufactured goods and bonuses.
Taxes and upkeep play an important role in the game, so the player will have to decide how to best spend their available resources.
BATTLES (TACTICAL LAYER):
Battles will take place in separate battlefields in real time battles with a tactical pause system, where every move and action counts, the player will need to be aware of each of their unit’s defensive and offensive capabilities, and also the type of terrain they are standing on.

User Reviews
I am really digging the table top vibe, overall feels kind of like ultimate general but with tables pieces. The game dose need more work for sure but whats there makes me hopeful this will end up being great.
Loving the tabletop aesthetic, pretty fun game overall ;p
This game could be awesome. Sadly right now the game is more of a proof-of-concept than even an early access game. The UI is probably the worst part of the game currently. I would love to see this game after some development but right now i just can't recommend it after playing both the demo and full game.
Hi Gamers! I really like the game. Sure is really really early access but its playable. I have played the first campaign Battle of Cartagenas. The first mission i have sunk two ships and destroyed two forts on a Beach with my marine Ships. The Second mission i have secured the Beach with Infantry. There are a Sandbox with the entire Carribean world where you can build Colonies. The game message me that the Sandbox is under development. I will sure try the Sandbox soon. The Grafics are realy solid and good. Sure there are so much more potencial to make it even better. I hope the Developer will take care to his project and will finsish the Development. I hope i could help a little bit with my purchase. Please stay tuned and i looking forward to the next updates!
There are few 18th century games, unfortunately, so I do support developers who are making games like this one. It will need a lot more work (especially for the sandbox mode which is the game mode I play in my games usually when available) but there is a potential for a very good game if the devs are up to the task. Edit. The devs told me that the game continues to be developed.
