I'm gonna give a thumb up even though I don't really want to. Like others have already mentioned, the content is not enough for the price. Paddling around in an empty space is only fun for a few minutes. Then you get bored after that. But the potential is there. This could develop into a very great game if the dev puts more effort into it. Unfortunately, ever since the release three years ago the dev only had two DLCs out. It seems the dev didn't really focus on this game for any possible reason. The thumb up is majorly for the unique experience and high visual quality this title provides. VR titles are many but the quality of most of them is quite low, especially visually. At least kayak VR has great visual. So get it when it's on sale and hope the dev could make more effort in the future. The current state of VR game world surely is strange. It's suppose to have great titles but reality is the opposite. So my hope is never too high but not dead.

As a newcomer to VR, and, I suspect, rather older than most people here, I was blown away by this game. Actually “game” is not the right word, “experience” might be better. It's many years since I did any real kayaking, but the handling of the kayak just feels natural – the water physics is superb. I've mostly played in free roam mode, and have thoroughly enjoyed pottering around the various locations, spotting the sights. The graphics are spectacular! The only location I have found a little small is the Australian one, as it seems to lack any hidden extras (or maybe I've missed them?). All the others, both core and DLC, have places and things you have to search for. It's not a game to rush through, but one to take your time over, and enjoy the journey. I've only tried racing a couple of times, but it adds another dimension. I only have one quibble. I was in Antarctica at night, enjoying the atmosphere. I looked up, expecting to see the Southern Cross and Magellanic...
Absolutely beautiful game. Loved the scenery, music and effects. I unfortunately found that if you do any movements which make your kayak move or turn quickly, the motion sickness sets in very fast. Visuals: 8/10 Vibes: 9/10 Tutorial: 4/10 Motion sickness: 1/10 Immersion: 6/10
Awesome chillout Ecperience with wonderful graphics! But beware you need a strong GPU. Will be less experience with mid-tier card. Don‘t expect a long story line, just relax and enjoy.
