About This Game

Jump on your pogo stick and bounce, bounce, bounce!

Go! Go! PogoGirl is a dynamic, cute and wholesome platformer about a girl and her pogo stick. Bounce your way through the world, collect gems and then bounce some more!

Features

 • Never stop bouncing - never stop platforming!
 • 4 seasons with 5 levels each
 • Bouncy boss fights
 • Hidden gems, levels, features and cheats
 • Yes, I mean push-button cheats like in the old days

Having grown up with 90's platformers like Sonic the Hedgehog, Castle of Illusion, Rocket Knight Adventures and others, it was only natural that I'd create a love-letter to the games that defined my childhood. And that loveletter is Go! Go! PogoGirl!

I've tried to capture what made these games so special, from the colorful graphics, to the fluid gameplay, up to small details like idle animations. I also added a sound test and actual push-button cheats to complete the experience. Now we just need a physical magazine to tell players what they are...

The game was developed solo by me, with Peter "Reflekshun" Mullins providing the amazing soundtrack and Robert Keder whipping up some amazing key artwork. The game was coded in Haxe and is powered by the HaxeFlixel framework. As it is a labor of love done alongside several real life jobs, it took longer to finish than it should have. But now it's done!

How wholesome and authentically 90s this game is. Sure, some games claim to be pixel perfect, I'm pretty sure this one actually is. The attention to detail and crisp gameplay make this feel like a modern and creative SNES game. Having fun, and for the price of an expensive coffee, this is a steal.
10/10 - What an incredibly fun ride! More please?
At first glance, Go! Go! PogoGirl is like a familiar face from the 90s that greets you with a warm, nostalgic smile. Even with the clear nod to Sonic (primarily in art style), this game has its own personality that aims to honor the classics. And in many ways, it does! GGP (can I call ya GGP?) is a textbook example of that dusty old chestnut, "easy to learn, difficult to master" that’s been said of many platforming hits of the past. Your trusty Spring Steed creates some remarkable opportunities for clever mechanics and stage design to shine, but the pogo life also comes with unique risks and considerations. While there are plenty of familiar platforming elements here, the fact that you’re constantly jumping up and down breathes new life into those challenges.   To be clear, you aren’t stuck going up and down all samey-wamey boring-style. PogoGirl can step off the Bounce Master 9000 and hold it against th...

Super fun game. Mechanics were very well designed and implemented. Stringing together the different movement techniques to progress through the level flowed really nicely and was super satisfying.

Go! Go! PogoGirl is a cute pogo-platformer in the vein of old GeneSNES-era classics but with the gimmick of your player character always bouncing on a pogostick. The art style is lighthearted and friendly, the play is easy to pick up and go with, but offers some deep tricks and collect-a-thon challenges to keep you in the fun. The music is so pleasant and upbeat, and goes a long way to giving the game its warm and effervescent feel. If you hark loftily at the prospects of bygone days spent sitting on the living room carpet staring up at a glowing, staticky cathode-ray tv, black-cabled controller gripped overtight in your little hands, then Go! Go! Pogogirl will probably find you there.

A simple platformer with a core gimmick of always jumping due to riding a pogo-stick. Added inputs include canceling the rise to immediately fall or holding down to stop bouncing and charge a super bounce. Thankfully a carefully timed cancel at the peak of the bounce results in a slam with as much height as a super bounce (at the cost of horizontal maneuverability), as otherwise stages would be a drag of holding down to charge. The highlight is a well-timed input can be used to perform a megabounce that is higher than any other possible bounce with no lost momentum. The game is easy with infinite lives and short with 20 levels
and 5 post-game levels that are more challenging but never wildly so
. Each stage further features 3 medals to earn: 1 medal for the 100 green gems, most of which are easy to find, but are often set in clumps that make them mildly irritating to collect (as they often require 2 bounces); 1 medal for the 3 red gems hidden in each stage, that a...

Great pogostick mechanics as you are constantly bouncing from platform to platform. Careful planning while jumping on moving platforms, as it can be quite tricky. I'm thouroughly enjoying the music tracks composed for the stages as they are melodic and fun to listen to. Great game mechanics and level design, with a throwback to retro-style 90s. style throw
