This game lacks purpose. You farm, for what? You dont know. There is nothing. You explore, for what? You dont know. To upgrade a mech? Why? What benefit does it bring except being able to do the same stuff but faster? Theres nothing for you to work towards, no collectathon, no museum, no anything. It has a great idea and honestly a pretty good setting but no purpose to it all, its a hollow shell. In this current state I cannot reccommend it fullprice, on sale maybe but full price no way. The devs really have to fill a HUGE gap that, ironically, they themselves made by gutting a lot of the story. The original demo had a story, a linear progression plot and it made sense. They ditched it in favor of a big BIG and beautiful map. But its empty.

The last update transformed the game from something unique, yet half-baked into a generic farming game with no purpose and obnoxious crafting/building. First off, you build a cannon with a bunch of rocks to shoot stuff into the space? Also, the map re-design sucks. Planting with a seedbag sucks. Watering can sucks. Everything sucks now.
Honestly, after the last update this game is nothing more than an empty shell. This little detail of exploration and cozyness is floated away by repetitive farming and a "super cool" building system that willl work but doesn't give you anything and you properly saw it hundred times before.. Nothing special to see here.
Wife and I loved the demo and bought two copies. We played a bit years ago and finally came back, excited to see what had been added. But returning to the game we loved and seeing the shifting gears update had torn out everything we loved is mind boggling. It is no longer the game I purchased. Where there was once a fun experience of cleaning the planet, there is now an empty, tedious farming life. All the character has been ripped away and now it is just a bland version of the game that has been done a hundred times before. Maybe a future update will bring back some of the charm and spirit the old version had, but I doubt it.
I put almost 70h into this game, and I love it a lot. But the game is crashing on me every single time I play, it cripples my experience to whole different degree. I want to love this game so much, I kinda do, but for gods sake, *PLEASE FIX THE CONSTANT CRASHING*!! Once you fix it I will be playing again and I will change this review back to positive! But until then I will not be playing this game, I will not recommend this game and this review will stay negative. I hope you someone reads this.
In singleplayer, it's pretty hard to manage either farming or adventuring in the same day. I kind of wish the days were longer so I didn't feel like I had to choose between one or the other. Also, a feature to autofinish all of the blueprints you have put down with the materials you have in your inventory would be nice. Games cute and I like the direction it's going in.
When my friends and I play games (such as Stardew Valley, Abiotic Factor, Core Keeper, etc.), I often stay back and handle farming while they go off and do the adventuring. So far, this game feels like it was made for me. There is some exploration to be done, resources to find, etc., but it's very peaceful and relaxing. Admittedly, I'm still in the early game in an early access version, but so far I'm enjoying the experience. (Also, farming with a mech is a cool idea!)
Good game, but some basic interface rules are broken; fullscreen windowed means that you let the mouse go off game screen to interact with multiple monitored systems that may have another program in use, like a web-browser. When a person quits the game instead of quitting to menu, it means that Quit, means QUIT, not show a fancy menu anyway that the customer tried to bypass by saying quit instead of quit to menu. Other than that, gameplay has been pretty solid. No crashes I know of at the moment; I'll keep you updated if I discover anything new.
It's a pretty nice farming game, I would've liked the farming to a bit more focused on but besides that great
My friends seeing me go from Helldivers 2 to Lightyear Frontier Farming, really? A man of your talents It is a peaceful life
