Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing historically, has proven its concept of matching typing and entertainment. There have been some decent entries in the series that proved the concept on the bare basic level, but nothing that ran with it to a fully polished feeling game design. For $50, this entry unfortunately falls completely flat. The entire thing feels stapled together from games awkwardly torn out of a Flash game portal, and/or previous Mavis Beacon games. This is a $10 entry maybe at best. None of the good stuff from the DOS version is here. If this game seriously wanted to do well, it would A) Re-do all the games, instead of re-using them from old awkward Flash versions. Make everything polished and satisfying (aka juicy) feeling, instead of so many awkward menus with voice-overs B) lean HARD into that Vaporwave aesthetic. I would absolutely go to Mavis Beacon's vaporwave palace. C) Treat the games like Tetris/Wario-Ware entries, where they are exciting, polished, & designed to pro...

There are typos in the prompt material in the software. (i.e. "od" instead of "of", "s" instead of "is") which causes a break in typing and cause the actual typing speed of the user to plummet when speed typing. I've gone from averaging 80s per lesson to 34 because of these typos on the typing material on each lessen. I cannot in good faith recommend buying this until it is fixed.

Half way through the typing session the screen overlaps the words and i cant see what im typing

I started doing this so that I could type the symbol keys better and faster (because I'm learning how to code, so I'm hoping it'll speed up the process), and now I find it hard to stop lol. It's a bit frustrating when you don't type as fast or as accurate as you want, but I do feel like I've improved a bit :) Overall, I'd say it's difficult but rewarding as long as you keep at it.

This is amazing! I'm 30 years old and even thought I come from a different keyboard country than U.S, I've progressed so far in just 15 hours of going through the lessons. I went from 8 wpm to 30 wpm ( around 99% accuracy), in this amount of time! Best parts: The jazz music (although you go crazy after a while) Hand navigation is smooth Mavis encourages me, she is so sweet The ability to create custom lessons!

This is the typing program that a 4th grade, 5th grade class made use of to teach students to type. Very handy!

It has actually improved my typing skills.
