About This Game

Manage a digital influence agency in this strategy-simulation game about modern-day propaganda and advertising.

Manipulate social media and the mainstream news to promote celebrities, market products, and even sway elections.

Research, share, leak, and target your way to influence.

Features

  • Control of a business that provides influence for hire, mostly through social media.
  • Missions from a variety of clients: corporations, talent agencies, governments, and others. You choose who you want to work with and what types of jobs you're willing to undertake.
  • A network of public attention, eager for the next scandal that you may choose to break

???s

During your experience, you might reflect on questions such as:

  • How does what we pay attention to and what we ignore shape reality?
  • Who is manipulating our attention, and why?
  • How is social media shaping news and journalism?
  • How is media used to both promote and fight authoritarianism?

(Or, you might just blithely pursue profit and influence. The choice is yours.)

***

A first playthrough of Influence, Inc. generally lasts 2 -3 hours. However, different choices lead to different missions, so you are encouraged to play multiple times with different strategies.

It's a fun game with a huge range of different states it can fall into based on your actions. Where some games present you a few paths and you are locked into one once you chose it, here you can change your mind on the fly or just be kind of corrupt ^^ Fun concept. Very solid implementation. Awesome Job, Curious Bird!

It's a fun game, able to replay a couple times to get different endings. Initially it was a lil much, getting bombarded day after day w new features but once you settle into it, it gets really fun. For all my playthrough, I never ran into money problem so accepting of quests was never really pushed onto me 'cept in the first few days. Having complete freedom to choose (w/o the company pushing a certain agenda) was really fresh. One down point for me is that the day passed by too soon.

Don't take the 'No' at face value, it's just not a game for me. Clearly there was an honest attempt to put pushing special interests through the lens of an influencing organization instead of a government agency like in Orwell, and its successor Orwell: Ignorance is Strength, but maybe that's why I didn't get as much affect from the game. 'Crunch time' apparently starts about halfway through the game rather than at the 75% or 80% mark, and so the urgency of my discretion and neatness sort of fell through. In the end, I basically started pushing random articles and leaking various documents to different outlets to see just how big of a maelstrom I could conjure and destroy the status quo that I was meant to uphold. The game clearly wasn't prepared for that mentally and railroaded me to the 'Status Quo' ending. Fitting. I guess I wish I never played other propaganda games so I could have enjoyed this one the most.

It's a good mini-game, not a sandbox. It's a "decision-tree" based game with a lot of "branches" (decision->results). By the time I reviewed this, they got about 4-5 scenario ending with its own objectives. Worth your while, got immersed about 1.5 hours in, but get reset when the final review came in and the game is over. As I said, at first I thought this game is a sandbox where you build up your career with infinite use-cases, but I was wrong. In the middle of the game, as developers I just found out that every hashtags, topics and corporation just a set piece with their own fixed scenarios. It would be a nice immersive game if anyone could turn this game into a sandbox where you can get infinite scenarios and auto-generated hashtags as you play along. So yeah, basically this game is a "decision-tree" game, you move along until you finish it. The thrill is there are some conditions that you should keep to make the game going. Recommended to kill some free time for those who l...

Its fun because in a way you're learning what attracts "society".....I'm not sure how stretchy these...."reactions" are but I'd say the outcomes come close to reality.....at least our current reality. .v.;;; If you like social project type games like REIGN, this is your type of game B)

Pretty good but, overall, counter-intuitive gameplay. There's little guidance on whether or not what you're investigating with the compromiser is going to dig anything up, resulting in wasted time and irritation. Why not add a fucking option to sav IN-GAME to avoid the tedium of restarting it all over again? Not fun, overall.

Influence, Inc. is a neatly designed game that brings awareness to modern day issues such as propaganda and extreme influence via marketing. The game is not only exciting, but helps real people such as myself understand and identify real issues in the real world. It's like watching a documentary about Cambridge Analytica, except that you play it as the villain, thus understanding the scale of the problems you can generate by propaganda and influence management. I really cannot recommend it enough!

I love the concept but quite honestly I think the game is poorly made. It is overly convoluted with tutorials that seemingly never stop because there are so many different systems, mechanics and wee little features to learn. Once you think you got the hang of things a new thing pops up to worry about and spend time to learn along side all of the other things that you already need to consult the tutorial wiki for constantly, and it feels like it never stops. The hashtag & topic system feels like going 8 sub-menus deep into a mouse-over header in an ancient version of Word. I went into the game not expecting it to be so filled to the brim with different systems and mechanics, it became much more stressful to play than it was enjoyable and entertaining. Bad first impression, it didn't go away after 40 minutes, not for me thanks. I'm sure there are other ways of conveying these systems in a less confusing manner, perhaps start with the UI, it makes things feel quite crammed in. Also may...
