Happenlance is a game comparable to getting over it, easier, but more depth to it. First off, the gameplay is pretty solid. you can spin your lance, cannot bring it closer to you like goi though but i personally think that's a plus. You can launch yourself, higher if you have a good leverage, if you have speed you can bounce on your lance and if you get a lots of horizontal momentum, it will translate into vertical momentum when launching yourself. Happenlance is level based, with checkpoint to save your progress. If you quit a level, you'll restart at the checkpoint instead of where you left from. Some level are a collection of multiple obstacle with checkpoint in between while some of them have a foddian theme where if you fall you have to restart from the bottom. It is a solid game, base game was around 5 hour. It has a new game + which give you a
bigger lance and new game - which give you a smaller lance
although only 2 level are probably harder due to that. ...

I like the game. Happenlances approach to teach things is like how it was done back in the 8bit days. Levels are designed in a way that you have to learn to do new tricks in order to continue, and you don't get any annoying tooltips or small videos that show you what you have to do. You really have to figure things out yourself. And oh boy it gets challenging and fast. Only thing that i would add, is somekind of collectibles in hard places. That way when you get better in the game, you would revisit some maps to get those collectibles that you couldn't get before.
A beautiful and addictive addition to the asldfj;oaisheouhigoiu genre. Highly recommended.
big sick
Super fun, super challenging
Difficult platformer isn't my normal genre, generally, but there's something about this game that just has me coming back. Do I clock all my playtime in 5 minute intervals between getting too frustrated with an obstacle and closing the game? Yes. Do I come back 5 minutes later because I can't stay away? Also yes. Have I not made it very far? Yes. Am I willing to devote hours of my life (in five minute intervals, seriously, I am not good at this game) to clearing a single obstacle simply for the satisfaction of finally having done it? Again, yes. Also, this just isn't a mechanic I see in a lot of games! I've seen many references to Getting Over It, and I think that's because it's the only other game that uses the vaulting mechanic, I genuinely can't think of any others. So, get it while it's hot, before every platformer is using it.
Absolute blast and full campaign co-op. I'd say it's worth full price.
Difficult at first but gets better as you get used to swinging your spear. This is a tough game but it's super satisfactory to successfully get over things you got stuck at before. Recommended for people who likes challenge and don't give up easily.
Very well made game
Extremely fun. Please add multiplayer for more than 2 people.
