In a word: Nah. At a glance, the game looks great, but that falls apart pretty quickly. The graphics often get in the way of the gameplay, with the hitboxes of certain enemies being tricky to discern. On the other hand, the weird hitboxes can equally work in your favor, allowing you to hit enemies and objects that appear to still be in the background. Navigating menus is kind of a hassle whether you're using keyboard or controller. Seems kinda odd to me that you can remove all upgrades for a piece of gear at once, but upgrading is always a tedious process with a long animation. Speaking of gear, this game commits the cardinal sin of making your default weapons, all of them, hideously underpowered. They can get particularly powerful once fully upgraded, but until you get there you're just plonking away at enemies. Lots of ill-executed ideas too - the tech bay weapons are fun but you do NOT get enough ammo for my liking, even after investing in upgrades. Those would've been more fun i...

Recommended with the provision that you enjoy old school shmups, this game is a decent entry in the vein of classics like Gradius, R-Type and Darius, with some interesting ideas. While it is lacking some polish in some areas (notably the menus and voice acting, the cutscenes are a bit amateur), it also has a certain low-budget charm. The actual gameplay is good, the levels and waves generally feel well-paced and challenging to master (the last level being the exception, it's a bit of a slog), and the weapons are fun to experiment with and power up. The ship and enemy design is decent, a couple of the five levels have branching paths and changing camera angles that add some welcome twists to the genre, also the fact that defeating some bosses is optional. At the outset of Story Mode, you won't have a very effective arsenal, which you have to upgrade in-between rounds using collected resource points. Due to this, your ship feels pretty duddy at start, unable to clear even the first wave...
This one is a cautious recommendation from me. It has quite a few flaws, but there are also some interesting things. The biggest flaw would be game balancing. The second stage was so dreadful to pass, that once I upgraded my equipment enough, I passed the next two stages barely noticing them (in terms of difficulty). Another big problem is the ship colliding with terrain parts. I know there's some setting which explicitly marks these damaging parts, but there are usually other things you need to track on the screen. Honestly, I don't feel as these terrain obstacles add anything to the game. Graphics are okay. Effects could use some more flair, but they're sufficient. The menus are a bit difficult to move through with gamepad, but you can get used to it. What I like is the armory, where you select and upgrade your equipment. Not all the weapons are fun/useful enough, but there's still quite a few to choose from. There's a special currency to buy those upgrades. You earn it while play...
If you have played and enjoyed Gradius (Life Force), R-Type, Einhander or Silpheed then check this out. The game itself it a little rough around the edges and it is easy to lose sight of the enemies and bullets for all the eye candy on screen... but this game has some great ideas in it; such as: 1. Perspective changes mid level. 2. A face cam on the enemy while they are spiraling to the ground after being defeated (really cool effect). 3. Mid-Level Multi-pathing that effects the way you play the level. 4. Huge and unique boss battles. 5. A store to upgrade the weapons you have unlocked and equipped. 6. Dozens of challenges and Achievements. 7. Three different modes of game play (Arcade, Time Attack and Regular play) +++Positives+++ Graphics are nice, the bosses are well done and several of the ideas in the game are fantastic. The controls are responsive and I have encountered no crashes or game breaking bugs. ---Negatives--- The skipping cut scenes is a pain. The upgrade m...
Really unique, I love this game.
Very impressive awesome side scrolling Shoot Em Up. Mind blowing graphics, The animation, Visuals, Colour & detail is incredible. The game is quite hard to start off with, Play and practise it many times and save up enough money and buy some more powerful weapons and you will be obliterating alien scum in no time. 5 varied stages/levels, Amazing different variety of enemies on each stage & Awesome well designed big bosses. Their is a shop/armoury to buy lots of cool weapons, Shields etc. Very catchy cyber/techno music, Smooth controls, loads of replay value. If you are a big fan of challenging shoot em ups I highly recommend buy this game you will love it just like i do. Excellent work Jamie, Both Thumbs UP!!! Hope their is going to be a sequel ? SHOOT EM UPS 4 LIFE!!!
this game is awesome! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YQxVd2tWJ0&t=328s
Gorgeous game to look at! With lovely camera mechanics, player upgrades and animated cutscenes. Every level has its own look and feel.
Tried out the Demo of this and was at first put off, mostly due to my inexperience with SHUMPs. Then the gameplay was kind of a mixed bag for me, but the amateur indie style type of game won me over (mostly been falling away from AAA games). I didn't want to wait for a sale to get this so, paid for the whole game. It was quite an experience, it was difficult to pass through any level other than 1, but I've strived for the challenges and unlockables, trying out new weapons and gear that may better suit me. Slowly and surely I managed to reach the end of each levels, after many, many attempts. I grew amazed at several of the bosses and environments as I finally hit the last level. Even after beating the game, I tried out the Time Trial Mode and Arcade mode, attempting to unlock more and more of what the game has to offer. And I had an amazing time! I will definitely play more as I wish to complete this game 100%! Now it definitely has flaws, that I would consider a huge turn off for so...
Good game, horrible UI menus...just terrible but the game play is good. Nice unlock and upgrading system. Two modes, one for more skilled players and one for more casual boomers like me (not really a boomer, gen X actually but whatever). I believe it is a single indie developer, so its nice to support that. If the game was more expensive though, I might down vote it just for the absolutely crap UI experience of it. Game opens with a prompt saying best played with controller...then smashes you in the face with just exceptionally awful UI experience...almost as bad as Wolcen (absolute dog shit UI for controller). Updates seems to be dead even though its not a very old game. It is fairly cheap at regular price and I would say worth it. If you can get it at discount, grab it if you are into sidescroller flyer shmups.
