OK Cool ass game but I have several complaints that just grind my gears, my first and most confused ones for the moment are the several incredibly important items that are used in a great number of general crafting items that seem incredibly important and in some cases are actually self depleting but these items from what I can tell are extremely limited in actual spawn points and can not be farmed. Like seriously you have entire tiers of building materials that use clay but require a wood type that can only be harvested from stumps and fallen logs in one biome which again don't seem to replenish themselves either. So yeah bad mechanic really not well thought through. Secondly, and this one really got me today, The stairs, there are two different stair heights and they depend on material, AND THEY MAKE NO LOGICAL SENSE AS TO WHY. Wood stairs, one height taller far more vertical reach, only available in that one level of elevation (no i dont mean the half sets and other partials). Ston...

About the Game

Aloft is a feel-good, cozy survival game set in the clouds, where you can transform any island into a flying ship and explore the vast skies.
Navigate the world, discover new islands, gather resources, build your dream home, and take care of your animals, solo or as a group of up to 8 friends.
Yet within nature’s beauty, a corruption spreads. Root it out and cure the fungi threat that devours all other life. Uncover lost knowledge, brew powerful antidotes, enrich the biodiversity of the islands, and restore balance to the airborne ecosystem.

Aloft’s feel-good survival is more about rewarding positive action than punishing mistakes.
The sky provides everything you need; cook up delicious meals for buffs, gather resources to craft tools, and explore to find new technology. Soar the open sky freely and discover ancient ruins to uncover the secrets of the past.
![]()
Soar the open skies in a vast sandbox world and turn any island into your personal skyship.
Build and customize it into your personal home. With a helm, rudder, and sails constructed, you are ready to sail the winds and explore the skies. You are the captain of your adventure!

The wind is an ever-present ally in Aloft.
Install windmills and a network of cables and pulleys to automate your machines and production. Fly into strong winds to supercharge your crafting power and sailing speed, but make sure your sails can handle it.

Each island is its own living ecosystem, vulnerable to unsustainable gathering and the fungi corruption.
Find and cure islands from corruption by defeating the mushroom creatures in combat. Craft antidotes to save animals and restore islands to a state of harmony. By restoring their biodiversity, you gain access to new special resources, and make them more resistant to the corruption.

Collect seeds and animals on your travels and bring them to your home island.
Plant various crops in your garden to cook up delicious recipes, and care for the cuddliest of animals to gain rare resources. Form a true bond by meeting all their needs, and they will even protect you.

Creativity lies at the heart of Aloft, which can be enjoyed as a peaceful solo experience or with up to 7 other players.
Bring your entire island base when you join another player’s world, and create a small village of sky explorers. Use the in-game island creator to design anything you can imagine, then share it with the community to populate their worlds.
Craft the island of your dreams, challenge the corruption, restore balance, and express your creativity in the limitless skies of Aloft.
See you in the clouds!

Nobody reads the reviews for sure, so I'll say I'm gay. @Nicolas Fournier, great game btw ;) keep up the good work
It was way too easy for me at the time when i played it. It's too cozy, and the animation quality was too stiff and not immersive so i couldn't get into the game. That said, I don't think the game is bad, there is an audience for this kind of game, and this is strong in its cozy and forgiving nature. So if you're going to sit down and turn your brain off and just play, this is for you. But for someone who wants to fight against something and overcome struggles and feeling like they get stronger and better at the game over time. This is not it. I recommend it but not for me.
You get a positive review when the game stops crashing without allowing me to save, before i've even found enough recipes to build a flying island.
Very cool game. I love building sandboxes and mostly have tried what feels like all the others. This one, so far stands out pretty well with the floating islands and flying mechanic, not to mention turning the island into a sailing ship. I look forward to a lot more hours in this game!
I love this game so much. I was hoping to find a good survival game similar to Raft and this has met with all of my desires!
An Early Access that has been on my radar for a long time now. Played the Demo that gave me a lot of positive feelings about what this game could become, and now as more updates come out I definitely feel it has potential. Things get repetitive after a while but that's expected for something still under development. The building system is fantastic and the building pieces are genuinely wonderful. Exploration is a huge part of this game and they made moving around fun. Building and customizing your island is something you look out for and sometimes makes you forgo progressing on the small questline entirely. High hopes for Aloft!
Such a cute game! Very relaxing with options to play passively to unwind or aggressively to have a little fun (but nothing intense). The crafting capabilities are really nice with plenty of options to customize your island. Highly recommend.
Aloft presents a visually stunning world of floating islands and skybound exploration, but beneath its serene exterior lies a gameplay loop that quickly devolves into tedium. The core mechanic of restoring each island’s ecosystem to unlock chests or recipes is not just repetitive — it’s downright exhausting. Every new island demands a checklist of tasks: crafting a Field Guide, identifying and planting specific flora, clearing corruption, and managing decomposers. While this might sound like standard fare for a survival game, Aloft takes it to an extreme. The grind is relentless, and the payoff rarely feels worth the effort. Instead of fostering a sense of discovery or accomplishment, the game often feels like a spreadsheet simulator disguised as a nature walk. What’s most disappointing is how this system overshadows the game’s more enjoyable aspects — like exploration, building, and flight. The constant need to micromanage ecosystems turns what could be a relaxing or adv...
Great Survival/Builder Type Game, Can get confusing with certain building and navigating mechanics. Fly island to island discover the lost knowledge, fight evil mushroom, cleanse the currption, restore island habits, create your flying island habits for all your critter. grow your own food. Occassionally get stuck in a wall after all its, still EA. But overall I give it 8/10.
