The original Maptroid is a small, unique concept towards a metroidvania. This premium version, Worlds, highly expands upon the concept! It's still not particularly long, but it doesn't overstay its welcome. In addition, there are multiple other, unique game modes to keep you entertained. Plus some challenge achievements for those looking to replay and optimize. Overall, definitely worth $3!

VERY SHORT! I liked the original Maptroid quite a lot, and have played through it multiple times (it's shorter than this). This ... isn't that. Perhaps my expectations were too high going in. There was too much teleportation in this one. It didn't feel like a contiguous map like the original free game. And despite this being a _great_ format for people to create their own maps, there's no Workshop support, nor is any even possible according to the creator. So disappointments on top of disappointments. It's still not *bad*. I like the Maptroid format quite a lot. And it is only $3, for probably over an hour of gametime. And maybe, like me, you just want to support an indie developer. But for the game itself, if Steam had a Neutral vote, this would be it. As it stands, in its current limited form, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend this game. (I *do* however HIGHLY recommend the original free Maptroid. Go play it! And then maybe come back and buy this to support the developer.)

I played the original game on Kongregate (back when you could still play flash games on it) and loved it. It is a nice relaxing metroidvania game and a fun way to relax. This new one expands on the old and adds in some bonus content in the form of other modes.

This one is simple. Do you think it looks good? Then it is. It's probably even better. The unmistakable charm of a small game made by one guy is present in full force here, and it's a joy to play. You might say that a metroidvania that you only play on the map is just like any other top down exploration game, and you'd be kinda right, but it still flows like a metroidvania. Fascinating if you like arguing genres. It's small enough for backtracking to not be annoying, and big enough for exploration to be somewhat exciting. In the end, I wish it was a little bigger, but hey, better too small than too big. There is some post-game content like puzzles and whatnot but those I found... boring. I'd say just stick to the story mode. It's pretty good and gives you a satisfying experience. Cmon, just buy it already. And you can beat it in one sitting, too. decent. it could have included the original game too, but the game here is OK. additional content is interesting but the puzzles are more along the line of mini-games. 5/10

Fun game – Lots of puzzles and back tracing to unlock new components! I thought the shift of 2D to 3D with the implementation of trees and lore was a good addition. Very excited to see what kind of planets we find after the whole “tire” situation. I also really enjoyed the in-game jokes, extra puzzle games, and pixel art component. It was a great way to breakup some of the puzzles or get back into the game!

A fun little metroidvania with really great music and without all those pesky lame graphics and platforming and boss fights. Just the essentials: 100%ing your map completion.

I applaud the original concept, but there isn't enough game here. You move around mindlessly in corridors until you reach the "upgrade" which lets you go through paths in one of the several places you were before, good luck backtracking until you find where your upgrade can be used to continue, and then rinse and repeat. I hope the developer expands on this idea and adds mechanics and challenge, it does have potential.
