This is only half a game, at best. In addition, it's poorly translated, and in several places refers to the main character as "Player Name" because something is off in the programming. If I knew what I was in for, I certainly wouldn't have paid for it.

About This Game

Okay, so you are a high school student (how original!) and you meet pretty nice babes on your way. A sweet, joyful neighbour, an ice-cold schoolgirl, a hot young teacher or the cocky school president? Which one do you choose? Or maybe all of them at once? Calm down, nobody judges you. Have fun, laugh, cry or ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Or do all of the above at the same time? We don't care. We want your money and your soul.
Just kidding
…or not? *evil laugh sound effect*

Sensei Asami:
"Life is too short not to learn. And love is something to learn"
A young, attractive teacher who tries to maintain maximum professionalism in contact with students. She loves reading romances and walking in the park. She always tries to help those students who need it. Oddly enough, however, she avoids eye contact with you …
Likes: teaching the biology to her students
Dislikes: be on sick leave
Miyu:
"So you're my new neighbor? That's amazing!"
A sweet girl next door who loves to help everyone around. She is always smiling and has an aura of joy around her. She hangs out with school misfits and loves to cook Japanese delicacies at the soup kitchen volunteering club for those in need. You often see her doing some gardening work. You also often see a strange figure in the window of her upstairs room …
Likes: everything
Dislikes: nothing
Tsuneko:
"Our lives means nothing"
She is called an ice-cold princess at school, because she doesn't stay close to anyone and doesn't get attached to people. And indeed she is quite cold and distant, as well as she does not count on help from others. She also changed schools! Some may wonder why …
Likes: when no one bothers her
Dislikes: when someone bothers her
Emiko:
"Fine feathers make fine birds"
Queen bee. The school president, the most popular girl, the daughter of the local wealthy. She believes that nothing is as important as the image, which she cares for with commitment. You saw a picture of her parents in the local newspaper. Their smiles seem strangely fake to you …
Likes: her chauffeur who drives her to school in a limousine
Dislikes: walking long distances on foot

Jokes aside, it really does tho. So think carefully before you make any seemingly insignificant decision like: "Hey girl, sure I can pick up the lipstick you dropped... BOOM you just killed the pope."* Okay, maybe we're exaggerating a bit, but your choices really do matter. Do you want to destroy these girls' lives, use their weaknesses and secrets to get into their panties, make them dependent, manipulate them and show them where they belong? Do you really want this? BIG OOF. But maybe you want to be a white knight who will free these girls from their past traumas and give them a bright new future, full of kindness, affection, devotion and warmth? Dude that's even more messed up. Oh well… I repeat, do whatever you want! Find your answer to the oldest question in the world!
Which came first: the chicken or the egg? Um, not this one. WHAT IS LOVE?
*This is not a real game situation, take it easy, no spoiler, pick up lipsticks for girls if you like.

- Arts so beautiful that you can go blind (the developer of this game is not responsible for any injuries caused by playing)
- Plot so wicked that you can poop yourself (saaaameee)
- Four romanceable characters in development, beautiful girls, each with a completely different character and tits
- Different endings so fricking amazing you would never have expected! (none of them includes the death of the pope tho)
- Great music that you will hum in the shower guaranteed or FULL REFUND*
*As long as you send us a shower video where you don't hum it. No, seriously, there are no refunds, we are poor. - The egg. The egg was first.

I will gladly recommend this game. Here you can explore well-written, complex story, very slice-of-life-style. Sometimes nostalgic, sometimes funny and sometimes awkward (but in a positive way) and disturbing. The story is rather slow-paced, but still the way it's written keeps you interested. Complex descriptions (veeery poetic sometimes) of presented world are often interwined with funny thoughts of a main character – a typical stereotype of gen Z or Millenial teenager. The way he tries to explain reality gives you a smile on your face in many situations. The game is full of funny anegdotes and references as well as quite a lot of visual and descriptional fanservice which tease you during the events presented in the game. As for NPC's who are main romanceable characters – they are designed well. For the first time it seems like some kind of mystery is hidden beneath them, but the longer you play, the more they may open before you letting you know their complicated histories and...
What is love Anime Visual Novel Vol. 1 is a very awkward and disjointed mess that I'd be hard pressed to recommend to anyone due to how poorly it's structured. It feels like watching a collection of awkwardly written 2 minute shorts with no transitions or proper flow between scenes so you really don't get to see the protagonist digest and reflect on events nor do you get a feel for how much time is passing between each scene which is very tedious to read. Generally I'd like to finish a game or at a minimum put in a good 6 or so hours before writing a review but the writing makes it very hard for me to enjoy this, which is a shame because going off the description and trailers this did seem like an interesting game. Maybe I'll try getting back into it some other time and updating this review but for the time being I cannot recommend this game.
The game is incomplete, I'm a moron
Fun game, a bit vexed about the many cliff hangers though.
What is Love? Was the game which first introduced me to visual novels and got me interested in them as a wider genre. Arty is on par with games like Doki Doki and even better, even though it's probably the studio's first title. As a game, it provided a very enjoyable and unique experience despite a slow expository start, and I felt it was ultimately worth my time. I am looking forward to the sequel and hope to add a storyline with Emiko Mother ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) in the continuation.
Until I see a part 2 or even some updates then this is not really recommended. I worry because I can not even load the dev's website anymore. So I imagine this will be left undone. If that is the case all that awaits you here are cliffhangers. Which is a shame because this has some potential. The animations of movement do help to add a little more life to some dialogue. So that is a nice design decision. The character designs and general art are fine. There are some deep moments which can resonate with high school experiences and the difficulty of processing changes. You do get to know the characters and their problems. It is fitting that many are struggling as most of us do in those years. The MC is sometimes capable and sometimes feels like a buffoon which is also not bad considering he's a teen too. The humor is okay and the devs at least got me to smile a handful of times. However it all sorts of goes nowhere as of now. There is lots of buildup for characters but you always jum...
This game is long and loads of fun! Its like a normal visual novel with a lot more choices.
Never played such games before but it turns out it is my new favorite genre. Must say that the characters, story (so far) and visuals are just WOW. It somehow reminds my one of my beloved harem anime: Love Hina. Can't wait to pet the cat ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I thought this will be small game for one night, but it turned out far bigger for potentially 40+ hours of content + kawaii girls, awesome arts, mad story, strongly recommended!
