Nightmare Frames

This was awesome! This was a point-and-click with a horror vibe that doesn't rely on jumpscares to spook you. The game is great at either driving you to love or hate the characters, including the MC. Dialogue was witty, pixel-art was gorgeous, and the sound track was awesome. I was thrilled the whole way through. Puzzles were challenging enough to be satisfying and I was only really stuck a few times, typically over a dialogue option that needed to be used a few times in order to progress.

This is a game for real fans of Hollywood's horror movie industry in the 1980's and most will appreciate all the references to various films, directors and actors. I was also impressed how well they presented the jokes and cultural references to the 1980s era. I felt like I was really back in that time. It also is a perfect choice for fans of classic point n' click adventure games. The developer has some other amazing games that I am playing and enjoying. The game graphics are perfect for point' n click and work well. There is a an intriguing story that starts like a detective yard about a selfish down-on-his-luck screenwriter that slowly unfolds and covers some interesting concepts about the nature of evil and the supernatural. Unfortunately the game suffered from excessive conversations, some puzzles and exposition that distracted from the games enjoyment. Also the fact that there is no voice acting and you are expected to read all of that is unfortunate. I also found it really dark...
