About the Game

In News Tower, dive into the chaos of 1930s New York in a management tycoon game where you build and manage your own newspaper.

From the Great Depression to the brink of World War II every Sunday brings a new deadline, and every article is a strategic decision. Between editorial dilemmas, newsroom breakdowns, and political pressure, you’ll shape the future of your newspaper to start your media empire!

Start with a blank floor and shape your newsroom from the ground up. As your newspaper grows, unlock new levels and transform each one into a fully functional hub of journalism. From printing stations and compositing desks to the legal corner for damage control, every workstation is key to keep the presses running.

Smart layout choices: walls, elevators, pneumatic tubes directly impact how efficiently your team works under pressure. And because morale matters too, add coffee machines, posters, and the essential indoor green plant to ensure your employees’ well-being!

Reporters, photographers and janitors without forgetting the unexpendable ads salesperson… Lead a diverse team across 30+ unique job roles each with their own traits, needs, and expertise.

Juggle hunger, focus and logistics to maximize productivity. Unlock dozens of upgrades from gramophone to slot machines, to turn your dingy tower into a prestigious workspace. A happy newsroom is a productive newsroom, especially when Sunday is always just around the corner.

Each week begins with one goal: getting your edition ready for Sunday’s deadline. Assign leads to your reporters, choose your editorial approach, influence public perception through your chosen tone and tags, and compose your newspaper.

Cover key topics like Crime, Politics, or Sports, and refine your story’s angle to match your editorial line. Well-researched articles or eye-grabbing headlines, will you aim for respect or reach?

Every choice impacts your readers’ perception, reactions, and sales. Nail the mix and profits soar or miss the mark and you risk backlash, lawsuits, or courtesy visits from the mob...

Four major factions partake in the city’s power struggle: the Mayor, the Mafia, the Military (in 1.0), and High Society. They’ll push their own agendas and offer shady deals in exchange for cash, influence, exclusive rewards, and vital new connections across the Big Apple. Whose truth will you print, and whose secrets will you bury?

Not everyone is in favor of freedom of the press…

Publish your newspaper across NYC districts, from Harlem to Wall Street. Each borough has its own reader profiles, preferences, and rewards. To grow your subscriber base, tailor stories to local tastes while staying ahead of two aggressive rivals which will come in 1.0: the Empire Observer and Jersey Beacon. They’ll steal your precious scoops but by targeting the right interests, you can win their audiences and become New York’s most influential publisher.

This game is an unexpected gem. Positive (negative below): I generally gravitate towards management games with a city builder/ colony survival theme, but this game caught my interest and- I am seriously hooked! The management aspect is what you'd expect, a game that sometimes has you starting over and questioning your previous choices while you grow, expand and learn. The cartoon style isn't my normal thing but the design is just kind of perfect for the game. The music is good, the story line and mechanics are a fresh concept. If you like management/tycoon sort of games, definitely add this little keeper to your library. A little Negative: ***Update after full play through*** - I will note that it felt like it ended prematurely. When you start you are given a world map and it lead me to believe that I had goals on each continent to complete before reaching end game/ more bosses so to say like the 3 in the beginning. I managed to complete the entire game without leaving the...

This management/sim game is very fun to relax to. The cycle of discovering stories, assigning staff to produce it, and then laying out the paper to please your readers (and sometimes the mafia) is addictive. Then you start to need to re-jigger your building layout as you build your staff, resulting in some major remodeling. Highly recommended to fans of management sims and history buffs.

I'm obsessed! This is one of the best management/simulation games that I have played (and believe me when I say: I've played a lot!). I have gone through the main story and unlocked almost everything. So addicting, so much fun! I loved every minute and can't wait for the future updates.
Breaking News: Amazing Game!
When I bought this, I was going for something like Sim Tower, for something that might keep me mildly entertained for 10 hours or so. Instead, what I got was a very unique, masterfully designed and crafted game that kept me playing for 10 hours a day for 4 days in a row. News Tower is a breath of fresh air, it's the kind of innovative game that, sadly, nowadays only comes along once every few years. And it's also addictively fun, with a gripping "one more turn" design. The actual gameplay: This is not a game in which you simply keep building your tower up, filling it with random stuff, and waiting patiently for money to come in so that you can keep doing more of the same. In News Tower, you have to actually work for a pay, sending reporters out, picking out what news to publish each week and choosing the diagram of your newspaper to fulfill the local public's desires. You have employees looking out for news, reporters to s...

I've never tried an early access game before, but I'm happy I took the chance with News Tower. I've always enjoyed tower builders, and this satisfies that craving well. I enjoy figuring out the best way to organize all of the workers and rooms. I love the art style, all of the details, and the re-playability. It's made me want to learn more about 1930's history. I'm looking forward to the full release!

I really loved playing this. I am getting into the tower building mechanic, and this game is perfect for this. I like that the varied quests, the fiddling with optimising the newspaper, the skills reporters have, and how to make everything fit in a small space. I think it would be good to try to optimise computer resources because even my gaming laptop runs hot on this game. Some tweaks perhaps on levelling the reporters would be welcome. Can't wait for future versions!

I really enjoyed this game and I am looking forwards to the full release! It is super addictive, the art style and music is great and it has a lot of cool mechanics. My only complaint is that after 10 hours, I felt done with my playthrough, and the end/mid game was just stressful. I wish that progress was a bit slower, it feels too quick and easy to reach the top.

amaaaaaazing!! so much fun! My only gripe is that you can't start all over with everything unlocked. Need a cheat code to unlock all the stuff so you can build up your company the way you want and not so much on rails.
